This is a lovely house--very comfortable beds, with luxurious bedding. The kitchen was nicely equipped, even having some basic groceries and supplies available for us. Liz, the property manager was very helpful. She was willing to meet us there at whatever time was convenient for us, and she knows the town well. She recommended a restaurant and gave us clear driving directions to the restaurant. Our only concern was that we wished the house had been more thoroughly vaccuumed. All in all, we had a great stay.
Charming and tastefully decorated, this house was a great choice for a girls "mini-reunion" for 4 of us from around the country. The owner was bery helpful, and the property manager was immediately available when we arrived. Enjoyed sittingon the porch and exploring the tombstones from civil ware days across the street. House is close to Wegmans in 1 direction and the Belhurst Castle in the other. Only minor thing is that sharing 1 bathroom between 4 women was a bit hard-- but we managed it without a lot of hassle.
We visited Geneva for a college reunion and stayed at La Belle Maison with our two dogs.
What an excellence choice! It is a charming light and airy older home in a great residential neighborhood. It is walking distance to Hobart-William Smith and downtown. It was a pleasure walking our dogs in the area. Be sure to snoop around the old, historical Washington Street Cemetery across the street. We also enjoyed walking on the path along Seneca Lake and if time had allowed, it would've been fun to do the Seneca Wine Trail. We would definitely stay at La Belle Maison again. The owner and manager were easy to work with and made us feel very welcome.
What a beautiful place from top to bottom. Very clean, and comfortable. Liz was great and very helpful. If I ever need to stay in the area again, I'll be sure to stay here!
I will recommend this home to anybody who wants a holiday place away from the tourist bustle and to also experience a little bit of actual living in Geneva. The one thing that I did not like was the immediate evidence upon entering the house that it was not vacuumed e.g. I found dust balls in plane sight at several places (one as big as my hand).
The listing description is pretty accurate and the cemetary did not bother me at all; on the contrary, it is a worthwhile place for those with an interest in local history.
Came here for a wedding and decided on sharing this rental with a friend. Cute house with nice layout, really enjoyed chilling on the front porch. Much preferred over three days in a hotel. Only drawbacks were a single, small bathroom, small TV (but didn't really come here to watch TV) and no microwave in kitchen. Maybe the microwave was hidden but didn't bother looking since the gas oven worked fine. Fast internet, comfy couch (just guessing since friend always seemed to be lounging on it in various states of consciousness), quiet and convenient location. Unless you want to be right on the lake, this place a nice alternative.
Breathtaking Seneca Lake ' Place of The stone' or 'Stoney Place' has a shoreline of 75 miles and is the deepest and widest lake of the Finger Lakes. It is also the second deepest lake in New York State. Seneca Lake has more wineries than any other Finger Lake and rarely freezes over in the winter time.
La Belle Maison is just a short distance from this beautiful lake !
