Villa Galini is a luxurious villa, located in the idyllic village of Pessada. Set against a backdrop of mountain peaks, amidst tranquil olive groves, the villa offers a magnificent view of the Ionian Sea to the front and spectacular mountains to the rear. This newly built villa, completed in March 2008, has been tastefully furnished, with 3 bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes, en-suite bath/shower rooms, fully equipped kitchen and separate utility room. It has a spacious, open living and dining area which leads to an outside terrace through French doors. The terrace is furnished with a dining table and chairs where you have a lovely view of the greenery and the sea whilst enjoying a dinner or drink. It is ideal for families or couples looking for a tranquil and relaxing holiday.

Pessada is a quiet and attractive village on the south coast of Kefalonia and is home to many sea captains. It is only 15 minutes drive from the Airport and 20 minutes from Argostoli, the captial of Kefalonia, where plenty of shops, cafe and restaurants can be found. There is a sandy beach cove, only 15 minutes walk from the villa and many more beautiful beaches dotted about in nearby villages. The beaches of Makis Yialos and Platis Yialos in Lassi are among the best beaches in Greece and well worth seeking out. With its beautiful coastlines of long sweeping sandy beaches and crystal clear water, Kefalonia offers an ideal place for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all beach holiday. It is also great for walking and cycling holidays. With its diverse scenery, many historic sites, bustling little tavernas and hidden coves, walkers and cyclists will never be short of places to explore.

This villa was immaculate and extremely well equiped with absolutely everything a holiday maker could possible require. There was a good welcome pack and a full wine rack to try on a trust basis. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, iron, ironing board and full sized double fridge freezer complete with ice maker. The lounge has TV with satellite and you can recharge MP3 players.
The bedrooms are huge and all en suites roomy. There is a hairdryer in the main bedroom.
The pool and surroundings are beautiful and well equiped with chairs, parasols and toys/inflatables for the children.
The owner is very helpful and responded to additional email requests for information as soon as they could.
There is adequate additional information and maps about the island and places to visit provided.
A car is essential as the nearest supermarket is a 10 minute drive away. The villa is located off the main road down to Pessada port down a dirt track so is very quiet and has just a few other villas for neighbours although it does not feel too overlooked. Beutiful view over to Zakynthos from master bedroom balcony.
Would recommend this villa to friends without hesitation.
Local beach lovely though crowded in high season. Best beach further afield is Lourdas which remains quiet even in August and retains an untouristy feel about it which is lacking at Lassi ( avoid if you hate crowds )
Best restaurants: The Olive Grove and Preview ( maps in villa). Also the Olive Press off the Lassi road.( home cooked and fresh)
Worst restaurant meal :The Captains Table on the seafront at Argostoli. Expensive, poor service and disappointing food which consisted mainly of frozen items.
Kefalonia remains relatively quiet and untouristy off the beaten track with loads of beaches to discover.
Our family loved it. (ages ranged from 13 to 45)

A get away from it all holiday

We had a fantastic time at the villa in August. The villa was superb - the best we have stayed in. All the facilities were top quaility and the views were amazing. The villa was spotless and all equipment / supplies were great. The welcome pack was a nice idea and much appreciated. The children loved walking down to the beach cove 10 mins walk from the villa and then going for an ice cream at the Taverna near Pessada Port. For anyone wanting a get away from it all holiday I would certainly recommend it.
