When we arrived we just couldn't believe how beautiful this place is! The pictures don't do it justice! You must stay here for a relaxing weekend. We can't wait to come back and hopefully have a family get together here in the warmer months. It was very cold when we stayed here in January, but that didn't stop us from going out on the trails! We saw a few deer and several wild turkeys on our hikes! It is so peaceful and relaxing. We hope to come back in the spring or summer when we can be outdoors a lot more (and not bundled up!) and enjoy the other fun things they have to do here! The kids will have fun for hours. I highly recommend this beautiful place for families! It has already been mentioned, but the cell phone reception was spotty, but that didn't matter at all to me. I was too busy enjoying the scenery! It was really nice to be able to cook while there. They have all cooking appliances that you would need (or at least that I needed). Very nice of them to provide all the necessities you would need to stay overnight. We had plenty of towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, and soap. They even provided paper towel rolls..which is the one thing I wanted to pack, but forgot! Thanks you guys for letting us rent your beautiful place for the weekend and we hope to rent again in the future! We had so much fun!
This was our second time staying at this wonderful country setting. We enjoyed the place so much the first time we just had to come back. It is a great place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and escape from the everyday grind. Its like having your own private country estate with no one around to bother you. We have two teenagers and they loved the fishing, small boats, shooting range, hiking in the woods, bonfires at night, hanging out on the deck and screened in porch, and they were able to survive a whole week without any internet, limited cell service, and cable TV. Plus they can't wait to go back!! We made a trip up to Nashville which is less than a hour away and hit some of the famous honky -tonks. Some other things to put on you list is definitely hit the Phillips 66 gas station down the road for some great food and Soda Pop Junction, just a short drive away you'll find the best hamburgers served in a nice little country setting. We also hiked the Milky Way property which is also close by. All around a GREAT vacation property, go once and you'll be hooked, like us.
Beautiful home. Beautiful view. Relaxing weekend. No Internet and spotty cell phone service made it even more peaceful. Important note for future visitors - less than 5 miles away is a Phillips 66 convenience store with all your last minutes necessities.
The fully screened porch was fabulous! No bugs allowed for outdoor enjoyment. We can't wait to go back!
We were 8 adults and 3 dogs. Don't know who had more fun, the adults or the dogs. What a beautiful setting. The house was clean and fully stocked with just about everything you could think of. Had bonfires every night, fished, hiked and loved the shooting range. Sitting in a beach chair at the lake, fishing pole in the water and cocktail in hand, it doesn't get much better than this. We will definately be back.
Family get-together for fall break; included 2 grand parents, 2 parents, 1 sibling, 4 children and 1 dog - 4 night stay went by much too fast. This place is perfect for this type outing. So much outdoor space and the weather was beautiful. The guys spent majority of the time at the shooting range or in the woods. Younger kids spent a good bit of time on the screened-in porch doing craft projects. Brought along a 4-wheel ATV and explored the trails. Brought a load of wood in with us and built a fire every night down by the lake. Fished a little but didn't catch anything; although we did not work at it very much. Lake seemed like it was low by several feet but we could see fish feeding. Plenty of wild-life. Very pet friendly location but keep an eye on your dog as there are cattle being pastured in an adjacent field. Our dog was curious about them but left them alone when running free while playing with the kids. House provided plenty of space for our group of 5 adults and 4 kids. The layout is two bedrooms on either side of a central hallway with 1 shared bathroom between each of the two pairs of bedrooms. There is a loft area which attracted the kids as a play space. There is a sturdy rail overlooking the living room / kitchen area so no safety concerns. There is a loft bedroom with 1/2 bath upstairs also. The kitchen and living area are somewhat small for larger groups. It didn't really matter to us because we were typically on the porch if we were up and about. We had to temporarily move the kitchen table to the center area to have room to seat the majority. There are additional chairs and tables on the screened porch to handle the rest of the group. There is NO dishwasher so be prepared to hand-wash dishes. Paper plates / bowls came in handy for breakfast, lunch & snacks. For a larger group it's also a good idea to bring disposable cups too as glass wear is somewhat limited. Kitchen space is limited but we managed some substantial meals. Extra towels are advisable as noted in previous reviews. We never located the ping-ping or mini-golf equipment but honestly didn't look very hard because we were so busy doing other outside activities. Some of the outside overhead fans on the porch have been damaged (broken blades & bulbs out) but that was about the only wear & tear issued noted. No problem for us though during the fall. Our group had a wonderful time and everyone was unanimous in expressing a desire to return. Great place!
We stayed at this property this past June and had a great time! We had seven kids under six and there was plenty of fun to be had all over the property. Exploring, golf, paddle boats, ping pong, and so much more. The wrap around porch was the best. Kids were safe, shaded, and had a little freedom to run while staying close to the house.
Everything was there that we expected as far as kitchen items. There weren't any extra bath towels so make sure to bring your own if you're thinking of staying. Maybe there were some in a closet and we just didn't see. Either way, no big deal. We had plenty room, quiet/peaceful nights, and loved to watch the fireflies each night. We planned to do a bonfire our last night but were completely exhausted from all the other fun things. We used the grill which worked great and had no problems with air conditioning/washer/sink, etc... Great property, great price, great fun! Thanks so much!
