The historic naval city of Portsmouth is only 1 hour away and The Isle of Wight can be visited by ferry from Lymington, Southampton or Portsmouth. Plenty of choice for the visitor to the area within easy reach.

Just spent 3 nights at Nutmeg Cottage and it was perfect. We had a warm welcome from Eve and home made cakes! The cottage is very well equipped and the garden and pool were fantastic. Nutmeg is ideal to use as a base and Eve gave great information on places to visit, we enjoyed a meal at a nearby pub, shopping, sightseeing and cycling. We have already recommended Nutmeg Cottage to friends and would definately stay again

This cottage is more spacious than the photos suggest and made a lovely base for us to travel around Dorset. ther were many attractive personal touches, both in the decor and available information, and in the cake, bread and basic provisions awaiting us on arrival.
