AFFORDABLE STUDIO ON HISTORIC 7TH STREET - WALK TO MAIN ST. AND FARMER'S MARKET!

Sarasota Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, Studio, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

The Squirrel's Nest is an adorable, affordable studio apartment in the heart of Downtown Sarasota. Located in Historic Gillespie Park, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Sarasota with its 1925 era cottages painted green, purple, yellow and even bright tangerine orange, this studio will make you feel like you have stepped back in time.

Furnished in eclectic antiques and hand painted country pieces, you will love this little apartment. The kitchen features a small refrigerator and microwave for light cooking. You can walk to the Whole Foods Market and purchase anything your heart desires from the salad and hot bars, or the prepared food counters.

A deck looking out to a serene back yard, under a 100 year old giant oak tree, allows you to sun bathe in peace.

The squirrel's nest is just a few short blocks from excellent restaurants, theatres, opera, cafes, antique stores, the Sarasota Bay front and lots of other wonderful things.

Saturdays feature the local farmer's market and regular parades, festivals and art fairs entertain residents year round. Bring your bike and ride over the Ringling Bridge all the way out to St. Armand's Circle and the beautiful white sand beaches of Lido Key.

We live here in Gillespie Park and are passionate about this neighborhood. We love to walk our vizsla, Lucy through the park and into Downtown Sarasota. We often ride our bikes out to the beach with friends. We love sharing our beautiful neighborhood with visitors!

SQUIRREL'S NEST RATING SARASOTA FLORIDA

Squirrel's Nest rating Sarasota Florida

Affordable and convenient - about sums up my experience. But then add private back porch with table, umbrella and chairs for outdoor living while watching the birds at feeders and enjoying the flower boxes and sunflower garden patch. Very cozy. Although I had my car, I could walk about eight blocks to just about everything, Main Street, restaurants, Bay, Opera House, Burns Square Cinema - you get the picture. Enjoyed attending Spring Training at the beautifully renovated Baltimore Orioles stadium - twelve blocks from apartment. Owners were particularly helpful in orienting me to the area and the many neighborhoods that make up Sarasota. I enjoyed my three month stay in the Squirrel's Nest.

CUTE AND CONVENIENT

  • 5 of 5
The Squirrel's Nest is a charming place to stay and wonderfully convenient for anyone in town to attend a workshop at the Sarasota Art Center. Andrea answered any questions and concerns very promptly before my arrival, and Mike was there when I arrived to get me totally situated (though I'm so sorry I never got that pedicab tour!!). Loved sitting out on the peaceful deck (thanks for the wine!) after a hard day painting. The neighborhood is very cool, and the neighbors very friendly. I would definitely stay there again!

PERFECT LITTLE BUNGALOW FOR A WINTER GET-A-WAY

  • 5 of 5
The Squirrel's Nest is a great location for a visit to downtown Sarasota. We loved the historic charm of Gillespie Park, and the easy walk to Main Street. The apartment is fresh and clean, with upgrades that make staying here so comfortable. It was so nice to have access to a washer and dryer.
The water color paintings hanging on the walls are beautiful and the artist, Margaret, was delightful and so willing to share some of the history of Sarasota.
We are finding Sarasota a multifaceted city with lots to do and see. We just scratced the surface and can't wait to return!
