Wonderful return trip

  • 5 of 5
My second stay in the Frog House (for two full months) was every bit as good as the first. The cottage is perfect for one or two people, and downtown Sarasota is just a short walk away, with great restaurants, theater, opera, concerts, shopping, galleries. I love Sarasota! If you're coming, get tickets for Van Wezel, Sarasota Opera and Symphony in advance, as these often sell out.

Charming, immaculate cottage within walking distance of everything downtown Sarasota has to offer (which is a lot!). Cottage is nicely equipped, beautifully furnished.

Great choice of restaurants, museums, concerts, plays, galleries. Bike to Armand circle & lido beach, just over 3 miles.

Need car only to get to golf course, bridge club, state park.

Mike and Andrea wonderful hosts.

I'll be back again; likely again and again.

Perfect cottage...blocks from Main street!

  • 5 of 5
This little cottage was such a great place to call home for a long weekend! Listing description was exactly what you expect. Very clean, had kitchen amenities to cook breakfast/dinner with. TVs in both living room & bedroom & also had a stereo with a wide arrangement of CDs, which was a nice surprise. I will definitely rent here again...we arrived on a Friday, woke up the next morning, & walked a few blocks to the Saturday Farmer's Market on Main Street--best market I've ever seen! Owner took excellent care of us, she lives right behind on the main road & checks in on her guests upon arrival. SO much to do in this town...& only 40 minutes from Siesta Key.

Charming, Fun and Close to Town!

  • 5 of 5
My mother and I recently stayed at the Frog House for a wedding in Sarasota. This cottage is absolutely adorable and very comfortable! The space is tidy and peaceful. We enjoyed the nice stereo system, but didn't even turn on the big bedroom TV - we were having too much fun without it! We met Andrea, the owner, who was very kind and funny. She gave us great suggestions for food and fun in the area. We enjoyed the Sarasota Farmer's Market, the Art Fair, all of the local shops, and great dining at Savory Street, just a block away from the cottage. We did not have a vehicle and found it easy to walk downtown (6 blocks), to the market for groceries (5 blocks), and to the bus depot (4 blocks) which had bus service to Siesta Key Beach! If you plan to visit without a car know that you should be comfortable walking numerous blocks - maybe a consideration for older guests. If you visit with a car, you'll have absolutely no problems getting around at all! I highly recommend the Frog House and look forward to visiting again in the future!

Fantastic little cottage, perfectly situated for exploring Sarasota.

  • 5 of 5
We recently enjoyed a week's vacation in the Frog House. The cottage is compact, but very clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and smartly equipped to optimally make use of the space. The extra (very large!) flat screen TV in the bedroom is a nice touch.

The cottage is set behind the owner's house but is completely private, with a separate entrance and private little yard. Andrea (the owner) welcomed us upon our arrival but after our orientation to the house, we had the place to ourselves in complete privacy for the rest of our vacation. It was, however, nice to know that help was right next door, should we need it (which we didn't).

The variety and abundance of restaurants in Downtown Sarasota is fantastic! You could easily walk to dinner every night. There is also plenty of great shopping in the immediate vicinity (walking distance), including specialty shops (Penzeys Spices being my favorite!) and Whole Foods for groceries. We also checked out (still walking) Towles Court (artist galleries) and the amazing Mary Shelby Botanical Gardens. The Island Park at the Sarasota Bayfront is a great spot to catch the sunset.

Hop into the car and within 10-15 minutes, you'll be at any of the many other Sarasota attractions (such as Siesta Beach and the Ringling Museum). In a nutshell, for comfort, privacy, and walking proximity to Downtown Sarasota, the Frog House gets top marks from us.

Highly recommended for a Sarasota visit.

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I spent 4 days in Sarasota and lived in the Frog House. We came to love the little cottage as well as Sarasota. The house is so much more than the photos in the presentation. The outside with it's fenced little yard give you privacy,it's lovely to sit there for breakfast or an evening glass of wine (in the shadow of the great oaks outside the fence). The cottage is well renovated and very functional. It's charming and attractively decorated and so well equipped, we had everything we needed for making breakfast and light dinner. The cottage was clean to the highest standards, fresh and new.
The bed was comfortable, we could see a movie at bedtime as we have flat screen TV in the bedroom as well as in the livingroom. Free wifi of course! To walk in Gillespie park and in the historic downtown Sarasota was very appreciated and so easy, only five minutes walk and we were at the Main street with all historic houses, theatres, restaurants, art galleries and the opera house.
Andrea, the host was gentle, discret and very helpful and we thank you specially for the guidebook you written yourself and so kindly gave us! We hope we can come back next year!
