The house is 30 meters from the beach and birdlife is varied and unique. Eagles lives in the area and are seen occasionally as they rest on a small island just off the shore.
Seals are also frequent visitors and they love to watch and follow them who walks along the beach.
Our house is located in Hvalfjörður (43 km. from the center of Reykjavik. Glymur, the highest waterfall in Iceland, is in 30 km. distance and 1,5 hours walk from the parking lot through a beautiful wooded area to the waterfall itself. We strongly recommend this walk to the waterfall.
Meðalfellsvatn is a small charming lake (appr. 5 km.), surrounded by cottages and beautiful mountain range. There is a small shop and cafe.
Hotel Glymur, in Hvalfjörður, (appr. 30 min. drive) has a good resturant and a swimming pool and Thingvellir, the national park, is 50 km. away.
