WE LOVE OCEAN CITY!! JUST VOTED NEW JERSEY'S #1 BEACH!!
Sally Wilson purchased this condo in 2003
We have lived, practiced, and raised our family in Ocean City since 1984. My husband, originally from Pittsburgh, was a lifeguard on the Ocean City Beach Patrol, and then a medic, before we met. His family spent many summers vacationing in Ocean City. We enjoy the many outdoor activities our town affords us, biking, walking and running on the boardwalk, gathering on the beach, kayaking, boating, and swimming, to name a few. Relaxing with friends, cooking & grilling, enjoying the views, and & smelling the salt air while I watch my flowers grow is something to which I look forward.
My 2 college-aged sons can't wait to come home, with friends, each summer. My daughter, a high-school freshman, still loves the boardwalk!
Ocean City's Best guarded beaches and boardwalk with many activities for the younger ones within walking distance! For the grown-ups, look forward to relaxing on the large outdoor awning-covered porch with your ceiling fan rotating, your potted palm moving gently in the salt-air breeze, after a day at the beach. Entertain friends, read, connect on-line wirelessly, and appreciate all our family-oriented property has to offer on Delancey Place in the Ocean City Gardens!
This place is very small and out-dated and the owner is horrible! The bathroom has a shower curtain and frame that only covers a third of the tub. When I tried to shower, the curtain was up against me the entire time. My family had to shower outside the rest of the trip bc that was so disgusting. Everything in this house is so outdated and a piece of junk. You need to use matches to light the gas stove. When we tried to use the broom and dust pan it broke. I took pictures of how rusted the broom was where it broke. The dust pan was probably bought at the dollar store. Now let me tell you about the owner. My husband and I cleaned the house before we left. We barely cooked there bc we had family that cooked for us almost every night at another house. We have been going to OC for the past 9 years and never had problems with how we left a house. We made the beds, vacuumed and wiped down the entire kitchen and bathroom. The owner sent me a passive aggressive text asking me if there is something I wanted to tell her. I did not have a good feeling about the owner the day I met her at check-in. My husband called her. She wanted to keep our entire large security deposit bc according to her we left the house in such a mess that she had to get a cleaning company last minute. She typically cleans herself which is a joke too. I admit we broke the broom and dust plan but again I already told you about those old and cheap items. My husband argued with her and was able to settle it for a much smaller amount than what she was initially asking. Her allegations about us leaving the house a mess were a complete lie. I have a feeling that she probably does this a lot to make more money. Why would she then give in so easily for a small amount if her story was true. Once we got our deposit back and in our account, we considered having our lawyer friend send her an email and show us proof of her last minute cleaning bill but honestly dealing with her toxicity is not worth it to us. Don't rent from this owner. I recommend going through a realtor in OC. We never had any issues when we did that. OC is a wonderful family place and there are so many other wonderful places to stay! I'm sure the owner will respond to this review with a bunch of lies but honestly why would I even bother writing this review if it's not true.
I love coming down to OC every year, and this condo was perfect. We were literally a block from the beach, and Delancy doesn't attract much traffic since it's a tucked away street. Comfy beds and sofas, AC, and easy parking. We'll definitely be back! =)
P.S. the landlord Sally made us an awesome Ceasar salad!
The house was small and is very outdated. The rugs and furniture are musty and full of stains, the shower set up in the main bath is like an episode of Seinfeld- no water pressure, no room and completely unusable. I expected a small place however I didn't expect the state in which we found the rental. I would not recommend staying here.
This was a very nice place to stay. However, the bathroom needs some work. The free standing shower is a little confining, as you shower the curtain clings to you and you only have 1/3 of the tub length.
The four of us spent a week here and loved it! Just a block and a half from the beach and boardwalk. Fantastic front balcony with awning for dreamy evenings of conversation and people-watching over the quiet streetscape below. All the sleeping, cooking, cleaning and bathroom necessities are covered, so just bring your sheets and towels and an enjoy the ease, comfort and convenience Sally's cute beach accommodations will afford you.
After four days here, we didn't want to leave! The place is cozy, feels like it has some history, and was fun to stay in. Clean, secure, 5 minute walk to the boardwalk, or a 2 minutes bike ride.
The kitchen is pretty rustic, however it has everything you need (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, plates/utensils, toaster, stove, oven) so it was not an issue at all. There's enough good food in OC if you do some research that we you don't need to cook. The master bedroom has a huge bay window which is beautiful in the morning, and there's a bike rack in front of the house which is very convenient since we rent bikes and don't drive at all while we're at the beach.
Sally, the property owner, was very responsive, helpful, and explained the rental process clearly. All you need is access to a TD Bank, and they're plentiful. We were lucky that this apartment was available at the last minute. The terms of the lease were the same as all other rentals we've stayed in. We would definitely stay here again.
