Welcome to beautiful downtown Savannah and the LowCountry! Built in 1842, 504 East Saint Julian Street is just a stone’s throw from River Street and some of the best restaurants in downtown Savannah.
Spacious and light-filled, with an open-floor plan and beautiful furnishings, it's no surprise that one recent guest said 'Fabulous House -- Other family members rented other houses near Washington Sq. but ours was the best- decore, layout, kitchen, grill and patio.' Another raved 'Outstanding in Every Way,' while yet another said, 'Went Above and Beyond Expectations,'
Upon entering the foyer of the main house, you’ll notice the original heart of pine floors covered in a modern high-gloss finish. A comfortable antique couch awaits you to sit down and relax your feet after a day of touring and shopping. Step into the living room and relax on the super plush Shabby Chic couch as you gaze at the beautiful Savannah views. Dine with your family and friends in our beautiful dining room featuring a fireplace, gorgeous crystal chandelier, and a beautiful round dark wood dining table.
All of this opens onto a modern kitchen with stainless appliances and granite and butcher block counters. Help yourself to complimentary coffee in the morning. Entertaining? Everything you need for making a fabulous meal is at the ready, pots and pans, Cuisinart, roasting pan, it’s all there. Prefer not to cook? Please inquire about a beautiful catered dinner or brunch in!
And don’t forget the bar, please help yourself to a complimentary bottle of wine on your arrival and for all beer enthusiasts, check out the opener on the wall, a favorite of the man of this house. Need more man-friendly spots? The private back courtyard, featuring a built-in grill and refrigerator, awaits your inner Bobby Flay. The perfect spot for visiting with friends and family, dining alfresco, or just relaxing as you listen to the gentle clip-clop of the horse-drawn carriages that regularly saunter by.
Back inside a marble half bath is under the staircase, and next-door is a top of the line Bosch washer and dryer.
Heading upstairs, take note of the wave pattern on the staircase, this was one of many original features of the home that we fell in love with. It is a common architectural detail seen in many homes in this particular area of Savannah, which was first inhabited by ships' captains and successful seagoing merchants. Down the block from Washington Square you’ll find the Pirate's House, a popular restaurant for visitors (kids love it by the way), but with an infamous history of carousing and tall tales from oceangoing sailors.
Upstairs you’ll find the master bedroom featuring a gas log fireplace, beautiful four-poster bed with all new bedding and a flat-screen TV. A custom closet also awaits your unpacking.
Beside the master is a spacious bedroom/family room. This room features another fireplace, 40” flat-screen TV, large custom closet and an abundance of books on Savannah and design for your reading pleasure. This room contains a brand-new Super Lux queen sleeper sofa from Mitchell Gold.
This floor also features a beautiful marble bathroom with new, plush white towels.
Moving further up, our top floor features two guest rooms, each freshly painted and each with two twin beds, luxury linens, and 22” flat-screen TVs.
The yellow room we have named our Jack Leigh room, in memory of Savannah’s famed photographer. You’ll find three original Jack Leigh prints accessorizing this retreat and several books featuring his work. Offering a beautiful evening view of Savannah at night and the twinkling Talmadge Bridge in the distance, this room is one of our favorites.
Next door, the pink and green room channels fun and Florida with bedding from ABC Carpet and Home. This room offers fabulous viewing of the Riverstreet fireworks, which in Savannah, seem to happen quite often, as there’s always something to celebrate.
The third floor bath features a marble shower and new plush towels.
Craving a day at the beach? Tybee Island with its beautiful sand, ocean and eclectic restaurants and shops is only a 20-minute drive from downtown Savannah. We’ve got you covered with four beach chairs, beach toys and towels.
Walking distance to everything, the house is located steps from River Street, Broughton Street, shopping, dining and Savannah’s famed Washington Square. This square is near the site of the old Trustees Garden, and was named for George Washington. For many years, until the mid-twentieth century, this square was the scene of the biggest New Year's Eve bonfires, many often taller than the houses around the square. The Seaman's House, operated by the Port Society to serve the needs of visiting seaman, is on the southwest side of the square. The Mulberry Inn, also on this square, was originally a cotton warehouse, built in the 1860s, then a Coca-Cola bottling plant before being converted to an inn. Given its fascinating history and its beautiful surroundings, it’s not surprising that on any given Saturday evening, you’re sure to see a beautiful wedding taking place.
So head down South to 504 ESJ, we’re sure you will enjoy your stay!

Welcome to our home! As a native of Hilton Head Island, SC and Savannah, GA, purchasing a vacation home in the heart of Savannah's historic district was a natural decision for us.
Pictured above are our two beautiful daughters posing at the front entrance of 504 ESJ.
After our daughters were born, we decided it would be nice to have a home of our own in Savannah. So, in 2008, we purchased 504 ESJ. Several renovations, wallpaper and paint jobs later, it's now truly a relaxing escape and a wonderful vacation home.
We live in the NY area and enjoy traveling to Savannah when it's still cold in NY, but gorgeous and warm in Savannah!
We've created a wonderful and inviting vacation home and are excited to share it with you!
Carrie McGranahan purchased this house in 2008
Savannah is a jumping point for not only the historic beauty that's within a short walk of anywhere downtown, but also for all that the lowcountry has to offer. With the beautiful beaches of Tybee Island only 20 minutes away, a 20 minute drive to Bluffton and about 45 minutes to all that Hilton Head has to offer, there's always an option for something to do! We'll often take a day trip to Tybee for a day in the sun and sand or head over to HHI for lunch at the Salty Dog. Then we can come home to the convenience of downtown living with the many restaurants and lively nightlife to choose from.
Our house is located right between Washington and Warren Squares. Riverstreet and Broughton St. with the shopping and restaurants that both have to offer are literally around the corner. The neighborhood is truly one of the best locations in downtown Savannah. We also enjoy our two courtyards for outdoor dining and enjoying beautiful Savannah!
This home would be perfect for family vacations, girls weekends, wedding accommodations, graduations, you name it!
We were looking for a nice home to spend a long weekend with our adult children in the beautiful city of Savannah. We could not have found a more perfect home that we all immediately fell in love with. From the moment we passed thru the front door,we were delighted with the charm and elegance everywhere we looked. We were greeted with a kitchen stocked with so many goodies along with a bottle of wine and refrigerator full of water, pop and milk. As we climbed the gorgeous staircase we enjoyed exploring the second and third floor bedrooms with soft music playing in each of the 4 bedrooms. We had beautiful weather so we spent two out of the three evenings cooking at home in the wonderful courtyard listening to the horse and carriages right outside the brick wall. It was such a relaxing way for all of us to escape from our busy schedules and just enjoy each other company. I do not think Savannah would have been quite so charming if we were not at 504 St. Julian St. I would strongly recommend this lovely home to anyone and hope to return! Thanks Carrie for your hospitality and great detail!
We had a wonderful Girl's Weekend in Savannah and couldn't stop talking about how beautiful and comfortable this home is and what a nice treat it was to walk in on our arrival day and feel that no detail was overlooked! We were greeted with a bottle of wine, snacks, music playing in the bedrooms, fresh flowers, and every amenity you can possibly think of! It's within walking distance to all that Historic Savannah has to offer - great restaurants, culture, shopping, nightlife. We went to Tybee for a beach day which was a 20 minute drive. The owner provides lots of recommendations on things to do, places to go/eat, etc if you want them. Our stay was SO enjoyable and fun and we looked forward to returning 'home' each time over the course of the weekend. This is a one-of-a-kind vacation rental that's stunning (and I'm a very picky traveler about hotels/rentals!)
We couldn't be happier with our experience in renting and staying at this wonderful home in the Historic District of Savannah!
We rented this lovely home for a wedding weekend. There were three couples and we were thrilled with the attention to detail on every level. The home is gorgeous- as pictured. There is plenty of room with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths...and the den is spacious. We were treated to wine, chips and salsa, cupcakes, and cereal packs!! The location is walking distance to downtown but not in the noisiest part of town. Definitely would recommend.
Fantastic house; fantastic location. We had a truly wonderful time in Savannah over St. Patrick's Day weekend. Carrie is a pleasure to work with. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Looking forward to doing it again!
This house was everything we hoped it would be and more! I was married in Savannah and we rented this house Wed-Sun of that week. My bridal luncheon was held in the downstairs dining room and it was perfect. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend to anymore staying in Savannah for a few nights. The owner is so nice and easy to work with as well. This house made my wedding week even more perfect.
The house is located in one of the best locations of downtown Savannah. Standing prominently between Washington and Warren Squares, the house is light-filled and is one short block to River Street and one short block to Broughton St. Prepare yourself for some of the best food in Savannah, only 2 blocks away is Savannah's famed Pink House -- delicious! Looking for the family? Check out the Pirates House -- a historic restaurant and tavern established in 1753 and thought to be the oldest standing building in the state of Georgia is also only 2 blocks away -- watch out for roaming Pirates! Feeling romantic? Have a horse and carriage pick you up at the house and enjoy a champagne tour on the way to dinner at any of the fabulous restaurants available in downtown Savannah!
