'Kerash Bey' is a traditional Creten house located in the old village of Drapanias in the Bay of Kastelli Western Crete, surrounded by olive groves & mountains, ten minute walk to the beach. The house has been recently restored with a large fully equiped kitchen & dining area on the first floor leading on to an enormous vine covered terrace overlooking the village, & olive groves down to the sea. Also on this floor is a lounge with TV,DVD stereo & book case, the main bedroom with ensuite facilities & large private balcony facing east. Ground floor set around an internal courtyard has 2/3 or 4 double bedrooms (depending on rental options) two very large rooms with ensuite, sofa & doors to small garden, two further double or twin rooms share a large bathroom. An additional family bathroom on mesanine floor has toilet,shower,jacuzzi & wash/mac. 10/15 min walk to 7 km beach,pool,tavernas,bars. Car recommended for trips to other beaches,gorges,mountain walks & archaeological sites.

The house of 'Kerash Bey' is close to the 7km beach where you can swim (child friendly) snorkle, go fishing, eat at the local tavernas or just have drinks in the evening by the beach. The peninsulas & surrounding mountains & gorges offer great scope for walking, climbing & trekking also suitable for mountain biking & cycling where you will discover a host of wild flowers in the spring & maybe catch site of Griffen vultures circling above. There are many more beautiful beaches to be visited within an hours drive of Drapanias which will take you through spectacular mountain scenery & remote picturesque villages. There are many ancient sites to be explored locally including the Venetian fort of Gramvoussa (boat trip) later occupied by Turkish pirates (& founders of Drapanias village) & Helenistic ruins of Pollyrenia & Fallasana. The Venetian Port of Chania (25km) is great for eating out round the harbour, shopping down Leather lane or dancing to Cretan music in the bars & tavernas.

Notes: Rooms have fans and shutters to keep house cool. Bamboo balcony furniture is included. Water is heated by Solar Panels Electric ovens, calor gas hob. Parking is very close as this is an old house in an old village with streets for donkeys rather than cars. Fluent Greek/English speaker on hand to help and advise if you wish. House is used for painting holidays in May and September.
