Comfortable and welcoming - ideal family accommodation
My family and I (our two girls are 11 and 6) travelled from the UK and stayed in Flagstaff from 4th - 18th August. We arrived late and Eric and Mary ensured that the lights were left on ready for our arrival. The property is welcoming and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. We were able to walk into the historic part of town, only using the car when eating out further away or doing a big supermarket shop. Flagstaff itself is a gem with such character, a variety of shops and countless places to eat out. We travelled further afield most days and took in Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Prescott and Jerome to name but a few places. Check out the array of travel and guide books at the house - we found some amazing walks nearby and further afield, including the magical Red Mountain Trail on route 180 from Flagstaff to Grand Canyon. Also the Chapel of the Holy Dove - a tiny wooden chapel tucked away amidst the trees (again on route 180), another gem. With temperatures reaching well into high 90s/100+ around Sedona and the Canyon, it was a joy to return to the coolness of Flagstaff and our wonderful home at the end of the day. We too were lucky enough to get a visit from the deer, woodpecker and a humming bird - what a treat. Thank you Eric and Mary for providing such a wonderful base for our holiday, so much to see and do, it was a real holiday of a lifetime for us.
