My family and I spent an extended weekend in this beautiful cabin in the woods. The owners are more than helpful with any questions you have and have stocked the house with just about anything you could ever forget. The wildlife was plentiful and didn't seem to hear anything going on inside the house because my kids would yell Dad come look at this buck, porcupine or whatever it was and I would expect them to be gone but it was as if we weren't there.
For our family Mark & Vickie's cabin was a perfect fit. We have 2 children in college a daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. Trying to plan a vacation that worked for everyone was difficult. What we needed was some family bonding time and this was a great place to do that. The cabin was big enough for everyone to have their sleeping area but also very cozy at the same time. The decor was warm and welcoming, they seemed to think of everything! The rustic feel of the cabin was refreshing, and the modern conveniences available were appreciated. We would highly recommend this property!
We rented the cabin for its proximity to canoeing/kayaking on the river and it was perfect. There are several put in/take out points a short drive from the house. For anyone interested in paddling the Flambeau for whitewater I would recommend heading downstream and those who enjoy floating or even tubing upstream is better. We did both and had great time. The fishing was good and it was nice to get done on the water and have a comfortable, modern cabin with all the amenities instead of a tent. I'd also add that while were there at the end of July, we all agreed that there is likely to be big whitewater and walleye in the spring, and big musky in the fall. We hope to get back.
We were so fortunate to find this cabin on short notice. Mark and Vickie were awesome to work with and made sure we had all we needed for a comfortable stay. The cabin is exquisitely decorated and was well stocked in case you forgot anything. We recently had a new grand baby in our family and the cabin layout worked out wonderfully in that we did not hear the baby crying in the middle of the night with the bedrooms spread out. We had a lot of rain during our stay which kept the mosquitoes happy and did limit our outdoor activity. However, we did get off to Copper Falls and into Phillips for the Concrete Museum and other fun stuff. We are looking forward to a Winter Vacation there in the future if all works out. Thank you.
Who would think that in this part of the country, you would find a 5 star cabin!!
The cabin is so much better than the pictures can even "describe". Every single room has so much charm and character. My boys loved the property and all the wild life. My only disappointment is that we could not stay a third night because we had to get back to work! If times allows, this is a place where you will want to stay and relax and enjoy the beauitful surroundings both inside and outside. The owners, Vicky and Mark, have done an amazing job in creating such a warm, welcoming and comfortable place to stay while up in the part of the country. Thank you so much!!!
First time up North with our family. Loved the cabin--perfect for a family of 4! Owners really made us feel welcome. Better than the pictures even. This is only a 50 minute drive to Copper Falls State Park and yet close to Solberg Lake County Park and some great fishing. Home is located near a river but your backyard is a beautiful forest with a path to the dock & the river. Was fun to cook dinners together in the evening and just kick back and enjoy TV, movies, family games at night.
