A Nice Surprise!
I couldn’t believe how lucky we were to find such a wonderful place to stay.
I’ve been visiting Phillips all of my life, at first to visit my grandparents when I was little, and then to just enjoy getting away from it all and visit the old farm. The farm, which is now uninhabitable (by humans), still holds some very precious memories. We planned a weekend away with some family so they too could get to know Phillips and the farm. Since we had a large group, we looked for a cabin to rent. We were very fortunate that Mark and Vickie opened up their home and rented us their cabin for the weekend. This was my first time using HomeAway.com, and I couldn’t have been happier. This cabin, nestled in the Northern Woods, was amazing. The privacy, space, décor and peacefulness will leave you speechless. The furnishings were impeccable and we felt at home during our stay. The bedrooms were immaculate and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed to cook a gourmet meal and had very good appliances. The minnow buckets, Hamm’s sign, Keurig coffee maker, soaker tub, hand crafted furniture, all and more, made you realize how much thoughtfulness was put in to making this a home. We cooked, barbequed, walked down to the river, had nightly campfires, and watched the wildlife from the picture window. When we were able to pull ourselves away from the cabin, we shopped in Park Falls and Phillips and spent the days enjoying the farm and hiking down our back forty. The pictures on HomeAway.com don't come close to how lovely this cabin is; it was truly an awesome place to stay. I can’t thank Mark and Vickie enough for being the perfect hosts and giving me and my family some more precious memories. We are already planning our vacation for next year!
