Thank you for sharing your home with us. Our husbands took us away for a long (Valentine’s) weekend. The weather was cold the first day but cleared up for the next two. We spent a lot of our time sitting on the porch looking out at the bay. What a breathtaking view!

We also had fun searching the beaches for shark’s teeth.

I was an awesome time with family and we plan to come back when the weather is warmer.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

There is an immediate warm, welcoming feeling when you enter the Stone's Throw cabin. It is obvious that the cabin has been well-maintained and cared for over the course of its existence. It is clean and very comfortable with a rustic atmosphere. The view of the Bay is exceptional! Be sure to wake up in time to see the sunrise. Fossil hunting along the beach was excellent, but be prepared to wade in the water at some locations as the water during high tide extends all the way to the base of the cliffs. This cabin along with the surrounding environment rate tops on my list of special places to vacation.

Just what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

If you want a genuine Scientists Cliffs getaway, Stones Throw is for you! My grandson and I loved the coziness and historic feel of the cabin, and the view simply can't be beat. Everything we needed was there, and the kitchen was more than ample. We were on the beach most of the time, and came home with an amazing collection of fossils and sharks teeth! This trip took me back to my first and only other trip to SCA nearly 60 years ago!!

Awesome week!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second time staying at Stone's Throw, and I had a great time again. I found hundreds of fossilized sharks teeth on the beach directly outside the cabin. I am looking forward to returning very soon. Thanks again!

Quiet Cabin-Stunning Views of the Chesapeake

  • 5 of 5

Was familiar with this Area as I had spent most of my Life here..Scientist's Cliffs came about as a Community in the 1930's with Preservation of the Natural Environment a very important part of the Design of the Community...We wanted to stay in One of the Vintage Log Cabins on the Cliff with a View of the Chesapeake and Eastern Shore along with close proximity to One of the Best Fossil Collecting Areas on the Chesapeake----WE GOT ALL WE ASKED FOR!!!---What a Great House that has been in Ginny's Family for over 60 Years---Very comfortable for Myself and My Wife Kim---An interesting Walk down to Beach Area on a well-maintained Boardwalk/Steps through what I would call a "Jungle" Maryland style(Not for Folks who have trouble walking up/down inclines but there is another Beach within the Community you can drive to easily that is easily accessible)..Just Incredible Views of the Chesapeake with at least a half-dozen Eagles flying all day very close to the Cabin, over the Chesapeake...Ginny has kept this House up very nicely--Not run-down or dirty at ALL....Comfortable Beds and Chairs and a great enclosed Porch to view the Bay or just relax and read a Good Book..Ginny's Description of the Cabin was Right-on the Money.....If you are interested in getting away for a few days or longer, this is the Place for you--If you can't relax here, then you can't relax anywhere!!..Jim Gscheidle

A Great Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

What a nice escape this was for our family! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this nicely maintained cabin. The view was amazing and the surroundings were quite peaceful. The description of the place is spot on and I was impressed with the overall cleanliness and comfort of the home. We enjoyed walking on the beach, playing in the water, hiking on the trails, and playing lots of cards and board games at night. I would definitely come back and highly recommend a visit to Stone's Throw if you are looking for a restful and relaxing vacation at a reasonable price.

Top Notch, Excellent Price, Definitely Coming Back

  • 5 of 5

Accurate description for amenities, house, location, beach, fossils. Clean and well maintained. Cabin has cutlery, pots, dishes, microwave, silverware, coffee maker, a full array of cooking utensils, trash bags and cleaning supplies. Walmart and Giant grocery are 5 miles from cabin and on the way. T-Mobile service works great from inside house. Cabin has great digital TV service for music, TV, movies/DVD's, NetFlix, and more. I thought it was smaller based on the picture, but it is large and roomy with plenty of table and floor space. Beds are super comfortable. Cabin is very comfortable in warm or cold weather. The view is incredible. Highly recommend this cabin over any hotel on the beach.

We jogged on the 2 mile beach and beyond. Found 2 shark teeth and a fossilized crab claw. Lots of beautiful shells. **Bring an extra pair of shoes and extra towels. Things do not dry quickly. And there is no dryer.** Hiking trails are within walking distance. Kyaking and boating is easily accessible. Nice quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed the antiques in the cabin, especially the book collection and various antique displays. Very relaxing, nostalgic, magical. You can't help but forget your stress and take in the grandeur of being so close to nature. We can't wait to return. The home owners are wonderful people.
