Beautiful Location and Loads To Do:
Driftwood Lodge is a cosy yet spacious bungalow with everything you would need for a relaxing and refreshing holiday. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac position in a residential area, it is within walking distance of the local beaches, the River Gannel estuary, the town centre and two of Newquay's favourite restaurants; Fistral Blu and The Lewinnick Lodge bar and restaurant. The famous Fistral Beach is within a short walking distance, and the Windswept Cafe can be found on South Fistral for a more casual dining experience. Whilst staying at Driftwood Lodge you will be able to take full advantage of the beautiful countryside and seascapes on some of the nearby coastal walks. The garden is beautifully planted with mature shrubs and plants. There is a patio for those long beautiful summer evenings.
The Eden Project can be reached by car, or by taking a coach/bus and there are numerous beautiful gardens to visit, Trebah, Lost Gardens of Heligan to name but two.
The Surrounding Area:
The beauty of the countryside and the coast are intermingled in this breathtaking part of the UK. Pentire Headland is sandwiched between the famous Fistral Beach and the Gannel River Valley. The Gannel River Valley is a conservation area and very popular for walks, picnics and access to Crantock Beach and the picturesque Village of Crantock, both of which can be reached on foot when the tide is out and by ferry when the tide is in. Alternatively, it is about a ten minute drive from Pentire via stunning countryside.
The Headland itself is National Trust property and therefore protected. It boasts incredible scenery, both of Fistral and Crantock Beaches and the countryside beyond. If you are feeling a little lethargic, Lewinnick Lodge Bar and Restaurant sits on the Headland, with magnificent views across to Newquay. Dogs are welcome in their bar and there are terraces outside if you would prefer.
Just a little further in towards Newquay, there is also the Windswept cafe.
