Often referred to as 'The Way the Caribbean Used To Be,' Tortola still retains the charm and simplicity of island life that so many other islands seem to have lost. Our home overlooks Smuggler's Cove, which shelters one of the island's most beautiful beaches. The house is nestled halfway up the hillside - only a ten minute walk from the beach, yet high enough to command a stunning view of Jost Van Dyke and six other islands.
The house is built in a typical island style, open and breezy with ceiling fans throughout. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed and a full bath, while the second bedroom offers twin beds and a full bath. A thousand square foot deck runs across the front of the house which is a perfect place for dinners by starlight or simply curling up with a book from our 500 volume library.
JUST ADDED! High speed internet!
Though many people are content to settle in at the house and beach, we urge travelers to explore all Tortola has to offer.
Keywords: Reef Road is off Belmont Drive in the highly desirable Smuggler's Cove area, one of the island's most beautiful destinations.
What a great view from your deck... we spent lots of time in the morning and at dusk enjoying the vista and the birds: a flock of Anis came back each evening and a stunning Scaly-napped Pigeon came to eat berries each evening.
Thanks for the experience and the memories
We have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and chose Tortola as it had retained the charm of the islands that seemed lost elsewhere to overdevelopment. We had owned the house for over 20 years and have always received wonderful reviews from our renters.
We overlook 120 acres of national park and are situated on a cul-de-sac so there is little drive by traffic. As there is virtually no light pollution the skies are filled with stars at night, a truely remarkable sight.
