Ron.... 'I built this house myself, and put my heart into creating an environment that would keep my kids excited about being home, both working and playing, here where I could keep an eye on them, and keep them and their friends entertained with wholesome fun. To them, this will always be home!'

Ron or Suzy purchased this house in 1997

This house sits perched atop a ridge overlooking both the Koocanusa Lake, and the Canadian Rockies. The views are spectacular, the air is fresh, and there are over 60 acres of wilderness to hike. As well as as energizing walk to the lake, a short distance away. You won't regret your choice to stay here!

Since the house was built, it has been called the Castle on the hill, but the reality is, it is a cozy, farmhouse retreat, where I raised my children, and now I am sharing the experience with any who are seeking a calm, relaxed, natural setting, to refresh and energize them after a hectic work schedule.

This is a gorgeous home both inside and out. The photo's show this beautiful property as it truly is. Ron & Suzy obviously take great pride of ownership & the house was immaculate. It goes with out saying the views are spectacular. 4 couples stayed on Canadian May long weekend and everyone commented on how comfortable all the beds were. The kitchen is loaded with dishes and spices. The location is both private but convenient, 3 minutes or less from Rexford. We are looking forward to enjoying this home many times in the future. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Upon first arriving at mile marker 59 your eyes are cast over to the left where there is a opening in the beautiful foilage that allows you to glimpse a breath taking view of the lake with it's turqouise water and jagged clay cliffs. Once turning up the long driveway surrounded by big pines and wild flowers of all kinds and colors feeling like you just stepped out of one of your favorite tales from childhood. Once you reach the top there over the hill lies this three story farm house just like it was plopped there from Anne of Green Gables.
My stays there have been so relaxing that I was unhappy to leave. I loved waking up in one of the upstairs rooms and hearing the birds chirping and nothing else and opening the curtains to see a blazing new morning. The house has big bay windows all the way around the living room which allows you to stay inside on cool nights wrapped up in a warm blanket next to the fire place and still enjoy the views.
There is many sights to see around the property like the lush gardens and the trails on the backside of property that small hidden ponds. Feeling like having a family bonfire well there is a spot for it close to the house with a bench to rest your bones on.
I truly love this house I have wonderful memories here and hope to have more, I hope you enjoy your own stays at the Montana Gable house too.
Owner's Response: Thank you,
We believe that you too; will be able to see the wonder of this tranquil, serene setting we enjoy here in Eureka MT. We hope to have you visit, to see for yourself, if this hidden jewel doesn't have the same affect on you. And it is our wish that each time you stay here, it will be even more pleasant than the last.

Overlooking beautiful Lake Koocanusa and the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains. Lake Koocanusa is 90 miles long. 48 miles of it is in the USA and the remaining 42 miles stretches into Canada. The lake is famous for its great fishing and fun water sports. There are two public marina’s that are very close. Both have docks, public restrooms, picnic tables swimming area and much more. Banff and Jasper Parks, Lake Louise, and Fernie are just north of here and Glacier Park, Flathead lake and Bigfork are south. Deer, Elk, Wild Turkey’s and other curious four legged neighbors have been known to look in the windows and check out what is happening inside. Sip a cup of coffee while being bathed in the warm morning sun on the front porch. In the evening after a great day, sit on the upper or lower deck and watch the sun set. It sets slow at this latitude so enjoy your favorite beverage while you relax, maybe even two.

The house is a 15 year old farm style house. It is 3 1/2 story’s tall and has many windows so you can enjoy the view from all angles. The house has a happy feel to it. It has a private master bedroom suite, complete with a sitting room, master bath and walk in closet as well as a private loft. There are three golf courses within an eight to ten minuet drive. Two of them are 18 hole and one a 9 hole. They are all spectacular. There are endless 4-wheeler trails and mountain roads to explore. The area boasts of 100 lakes in a 50 mile radius. The Ten Lakes Scenic area is one of the most beautiful places to hike or ride horseback that I have ever seen. It is grand and pristine. Hike to the top of one of the mountains and overlook peaks in Glacier Park, and Canada, spectacular!

There is premier rock-climbing at Stone Hill, just down the road, or visit a mountain Cedar Rain Forest that is across the lake. Hike to an abandoned gold mine or one of many Forest Service look-out towers. For the thrill seekers, dive from the rocks into Lake Koocanusa at beautiful Pinkham Cove. Water ski, jet ski, kayak, sail and so much more. If you would like to go back in time, plan a dinner at the Amish Restaurant in the Amish community of West Kootenai. Located across the lake. It is an experience that you would like to share with all of your friends. The restaurants in Rexford and Eureka are amazing! People come from far away to eat at Jax Restaurant in Eureka or at the Frontier in Rexford.
