Great space

Stayed at this adorable and clean basement apartment for four days during Jazzfest. From our research, the rate was very reasonable, especially for such a well-travelled week.
Owners were communicative and helpful, everything in the apartment was like they said it would be; and adorably, they even left chocolate bars on our beds! Coffee maker in the kitchen and washer/dryer by the bathroom ended up being great extras. The block is very cute with a drugstore, wine store, gas station, and great brunch nearby. The apartment is on the basement floor, but not at all dark and grim. Sliding door to the outside porch made it so bright and sunny.
Since the weather was nice, we walked all the way down St. Denis several times. It really is one of the best blocks in the city, though the apartment is not right dab in the middle of the action, but further up in a more residential area.
Only negative: The parking situation was a bit of a pain; since you couldn't keep the same spot for long. We were visiting from Boston and NYC respectively, which have similar road rules. But no one wants to have to move the car every day while on vacation. We might have looked for a place with a parking spot had we known what a time-eater finding a spot would be.
