YOSEMITE ESTATE: POOL, SPA, OUTDOOR KITCHEN & FIREPLACE-SLEEPS 10+

Mariposa Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 3+ bedrooms (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-12)

THE TRABUCCO HOUSE:

Amazingly preserved and well maintained, this home was built in 1932 in the Spanish Colonial style (Santa Barbara style). This beautiful, secluded home features 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

With unique and ample features to which no other Yosemite area home can compare, this property features a Mexican tile lined swimming pool, basketball and volleyball court, private balcony, courtyards, outdoor kitchen and living areas, two ponds, Spanish style water fountain, spectacular lush gardens, outdoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and spacious patios. All of this tucked in the heart of Mariposa…within walking distance to shops and activities.

LIVING, DINING AND KITCHEN AREAS:

Much of the home features original beautiful mahogany floors; mahogany beamed ceilings grace the living room with original hand painted flowers. The living room showcases a wood-burning fireplace with the original 1932 copper screen. The light fixtures in the entry and leading up the staircase also depict hand forged art scenes from the past.

The dining room seats 8 comfortably and closes off completely for privacy with the original Mahogany French doors.

With kitchen renovation in 2009, the authenticity of the 1932 era was maintained while providing a very modern, custom kitchen. The kitchen features granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, warming drawer, farm sink, prep sink, pot filler, gas Wolf stove top, and Sub-Zero refrigerator.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS:

Two spacious bedrooms are located down stairs and share a bathroom while two identical bedrooms are upstairs and also share a bathroom. The two upstairs bedrooms have doors opening onto a patio that overlooks the pool area and is equipped with rocking chairs to enjoy your morning coffee. The bedrooms are each beautifully and uniquely decorated.

The bathrooms have the original ceramic tile that was popular in 1932; one with yellow and black and the other with art deco styled pink, green and black. Very fun! Both are full baths with the upstairs having a large separate soaking tub.

GROUNDS:

Surrounded by a Giant Sequoia, Palm, Deadora, Cedar, Pine, Olive, Plum, and Almond trees makes for a very private setting. The magnificent vegetation attracts numerous birds. During the “dog days of summer” you can escape the heat by cooling of in the private pool, sitting under the covered patio, or enjoying the natural shade provided by the canopy.

35 minutes from Yosemite National Park (Hwy 140 entrance)

50 minutes to Yosemite’s South entrance (Hwy 41, Glacier Point, Wawona, & Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias)

There are two bakeries in town. One of which will now make a boxed lunch for you to take to Yosemite for a picnic!

Mariposa is home to many restaurants will fantastic food. A few of favorites: Charles Street, Castillo’s Mexican, Savory’s, Sugar Pine Café, River Rock Inn and Deli (music on Wednesday & Fridays & Saturdays), and High Country Health Food.

The Kari Family has lived and worked in Yosemite National Park for over 20 years. Dave is the supervisor in charge of Yosemite's Trails Program and Kirstie is the owner of the El Portal Market. Their children, Jack and Leo, have been raised hiking, camping, and skiing in Yosemite. Summers find the family swimming and fishing on the Merced River and every free day of winter finds them at Yosemite's Badger Pass.

House is perfect for mixed groups. Staying at the house with the sports court, pool, gardens and luxurious furnishing is a vacation on its own. Only 30 miles from the 140 gate to Yosemite - it is close enough to visit everyday. At the same time, its in town location, just steps from the restaurants and shops in the gold country of Mariposa, it is an easy place for families.

3 Families stayed at this house for the memorial day weekend. Excellent house and everything was perfect. Owner was very helpful in answering all the queries and made sure everything was taken care. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the basketball courts. Definitely would visit this place again. Very close to Shopping places and restaurants as well. Yosemite valley is 40 mins away.

Only con I would say is the volleyball net gear was a bit rusty and unable to increase the height.

JUST THE WEEKEND WE NEEDED!

  • 5 of 5
Myself and eight other friends chose the Trabucco House as our destination for our Labor Day weekend this year. It was far nicer than even the photos show. We were extremely pleased with the decor, the view, and the close proximity to downtown Mariposa. We ate all our meals outside in the courtyard and spent our days by the pool. I have to say, if you're looking for a great location to relax and spend some quality time with friends or family, this is the house.

The only note I'd make is that you can really only sleep 9 comfortably in beds. The room with 4 twins is actually two trundle beds. You have to slide out the two bottom beds but, if you do, there is literally no room to walk. Since we had only 9 people, we only slid one bed out and that gave us about a foot of space on either side to walk. Plenty of room in the living room for couch and floor sleeping, plus the rollaway beds.

We loved our experience so much, we've decided to make this an annual visit. We can't wait to come back next year!

PERFECT HOME FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

  • 5 of 5
My family, my sister's family, and my parents all stayed at the house during our first trip to Yosemite. We have 3 little ones from 1 to 6 years of age, and had an amazing time. After going on our hikes in Yosemite in the morning, we were happy to come back and swim in the pool during the afternoons. We enjoyed it so much, we didn't even get a chance to use the tennis courts.

The house has everything you need and is very spacious. A/C was a life saver, since it was hitting 100 degrees during our stay. DirecTV in every room was a luxury. Wifi internet in the house is very fast.

We picked up groceries at the nearby Pioneer Market, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare or meals. We used the huge outdoor grill a couple of times. The house is only 1 block from the main street, and it took a minute to walk down to some of the restaurants.

I highly recommend this house for those travelling with families, who want to feel at home, and who want to relax after a nice day at Yosemite Park. Its a very beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The owners were amazing, and responded to our emailed questions within minutes. We hope to visit annually.

ACCURATE

The Trabucco House was a lovely estate to return to after hiking in Yosemite. This was a 60th bday party gathering for my husband with our three children and their significant others. At the house We enjoyed tennis, basketball shooting contests, ping pong, and the pool. Kirstie was very easy to reach for any questions we had. I would highly recommend this property.

VACATION OASIS

  • 5 of 5
Our party of 9 (4 adults + 5 children) had a wonderful vacation at Trabucco House. The house is beautiful inside and out. The bedrooms are nicely decorated with crisp white linens. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals for a large group. The quaint town of Mariposa and it's many restaurants are a two block walk from the house if you prefer not to cook. The grounds of this property are lush and well-maintained. Our kids really loved the pool. The adults enjoyed the hot tub. The owners take excellent care of the property and were very responsive when we had an issue with the WiFi. The house is about an hour from both the Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove entrances of Yosemite National Park. We had a wonderful vacation at Trabucco House.
