A wonderful retreat

We found our stay here to be the kind of vacation we like: comfortable, spacious accommodation, privacy, a gorgeous view and yet a quick drive or easy walk into town. The little shop down the hill is neat and clean and provides many of the essentials, while the markets in town have the freshest, best tasting vegetables we've ever had. There is a beach just outside of town and more gorgeous walking and swimming beaches a short drive away. There are a number of restaurants in town but we did most of our own cooking and particularly liked the BBQ chickens cooked beside the road and the fresh cheese at the stand near the gas station. The internet cafe is excellent and if you use your own laptop, the service is cheap if you buy coffee, a drink or food.
The house is a gem: The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. The beds are comfortable and the sliding doors bring fresh breezes in on both levels. I loved sitting on the veranda to watch the sun come up and the view on the far hillside with the bright sea beyond. later in the day. The upper bedroom opens onto the roof, which is a fabulous spot for star-gazing on a clear night.
The neighborhood felt very safe for long walks and it was a comfort to have someone from that community living on the grounds.
