The master bedroom pavilion looks out on the pool and is connected to the exterior deck by a covered verandah. An inviting spa in the ensuite bathroom has views over the valley to the third largest mountain in North Queensland. This pavilion also has a study, laundry and car port.
The central pavilion houses the gourmet kitchen and living areas and a separate air-conditioned media room and library. A spotted gum verandah flows off the living area with views across the infinity pool to the rolling lawns, pond, tropical fruit trees and rainforest-clad mountains beyond.
Upholding Shambhala's theme of spoiling all guests, the third pavilion comprises two guest rooms with open decks fronting each and complimented by luxuriant bathrooms. Reading material isn't required in these toilets as they offer open-walled views of the rainforest just beyond.
No paintings or prints hang on any walls. 'I bring the rich colours of heliconias flowers inside for decoration', says the owner. 'We need so little here, for the garden and the forest is our visual stimulation.'
