Log cabin in beautiful Alta Wyoming. The cabin is set in a row of houses which back up to large open land with dead-on, drop-dead perfect views of The Tetons. We are 4 miles from Driggs ID (great grocery store) and 35 miles from Jackson WY. Large deck with bocce court and badminton court. Step off the deck in winter onto the neighborhood cross-country ski trail (groomed) which meanders under the Tetons - or hike it in your snowshoes. Great view of Grand Targhee ski resort as well. Lots of flowers and aspen trees, small creek runs through the property. Fish on the Teton River 5 minutes away. Peaceful location, gorgeous views, just a short drive from the hustle bustle and fun of Jackson. Enjoy your stay on 'the quiet side of the Tetons!'
Cabin is cozy - queen bed on main level with sliding door to living area and private bathroom with large soaking tub. Another large bathroom with 2-person shower on main level. Up the spiral steps to the loft with two single beds, and two extra single mattresses for the floor.
Walk to the darling Alta library, school playground and small ice rink just 5 minutes away. Great location for kids. Summer programs for kids at Grand Targhee.
The cabin is located one block off Ski Hill Road - the road that goes up to Grand Targhee for skiing, horseback riding, and concerts. One hour drive over the pass to ski in Jackson Hole. Cross country ski and snowshoe out the front door or on groomed trail in back yard.
Great kayaking on the Teton and Snake Rivers and mountain biking in the Big Hole Mountains. Fly-fishing at Leigh Creek, Teton River, and Henry's Fork. Small town of Driggs with cute restaurants, wine store, and shops is a three mile drive.
Jackson Hole (55 minute drive) is full of art galleries, shopping, museums, restaurants, float trips on the Snake, as well as cross-country and downhill skiing. Idaho Falls and Jackson airports are both 75 minute away. Yellowstone National Park is 100 miles north - enter at West Yellowstone. Island Park and Henry's Fork, an area of world famous fly fishing, is 40 minutes north.

We bought this cabin as a vacation get away for family and friends. Since then we've bought another little cabin 5 miles away where we live full time. Our extended family uses the cabin often, so the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfy. Jim does real estate consulting, and Ginger teaches workshops on Mail Art. We love to hike and kayak and cook dinners for the family. We have two grown children who live in San Francisco and Berkeley.
This area of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana is just gorgeous. There are so many beautiful areas to visit - mountains, waterfalls, rivers, fields of wildflowers throughout the summer, great snow all winter - you will want to be outdoors every day. Late spring is the best time to see the animals with their new offspring, and October brings the spectacular golden 'quaking' leaves on the aspen trees.
The deck is huge, and the view is spectacular.
