I loved the home. It is on three levels with two kitchens and was very family-friendly. We each had our privacy, something that you need with teenagers. The place was very clean and well-equipped and we especially enjoyed the large balcony with its view of the ocean. Th outdoor shower was needed for the many sandy trips to the beach and all the rooms were very bright and airy. All the appliances were appreciated as we mostly stayed in to cook and we got use of the gas barbecue. The beach access was right across the street and the beach is beautiful. I would definitely recommend this home to all.
Very good beach access. With some minor maintenance, I would rate it excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay at Coastal Manor over Thanksgiving weekend. The Crystal Coast is beautiful during this time of year and there is still a lot of things to do. We loved the Emerald Isle Christmas Parade and the Swansboro Flotilla. We also visited Beaufort (the kids got to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus there--definitely a highlight of their trip) and Morehead City (enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Sammy's Ice House, where the service is excellent and the people are super friendly). Coastal Manor is a beautiful home that is very kid-friendly and comfortable. Our two girls loved their oceanfront room with a huge window. My parents joined us for the trip, and they were happy to see that there was a bedroom on the main floor---space is a good thing, especially since we also have a 6 month old who tends to wake up several times at night. This home has plenty of the "basics"...pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, etc. The beach access is located right across the street, and was an easy walk. We were lucky enough to have temps in the 60s most of the weekend, so we spent a lot of time on the beach. We would definitely stay here again. The owners were very accommodating and answered all of the questions we had beforehand. We can't wait to come back and stay longer next time!
We had a great week at Coastal Manor. The property is clean and in good condition across a very quiet street from a beautiful beach. The beach access is literally at the end of the driveway. We had great views of the ocean from the deck. The property manager, Carol was a pleasure to work with. I would have no reservations about recommending this house to friends or relatives as I will probably be back myself.
The house was more then large enough. The views from the beach were beautiful and the short stroll to the beach was even easy with a toddler. Every night we played one the games that the owners provide for use on the outside deck. The only recommendation would be to have more pans available...A great time had by all! Thank you!
10 years ago, my family and I discovered Emerald Isle and Coastal Manor. There's only been one summer in those 10 years we haven't vacationed on the "Emerald Coast" - and we've always chosen Coastal Manor as our home-away-from-home. You couldn't ask for more from this well maintained home and it's ample amenities!
Due to the fantastic location, you might as well be staying in an Ocean Front property (without the price) because the walkway to the beach is located across from Coastal Manor's driveway. It really doesn't get any easier than this! The views from the deck are amazing will little to no obstructed views even though you're staying on the second row. We’ve easily observed dolphins swimming near the beach from hear many times - and we don’t think you'll find prettier water in North Carolina. The kids will love the view from the "picture size" window in the third floor bedroom that has twin beds. One of our favorite past times (after spending a fun filled day in the sun collecting seashells) is enjoying a relaxing evenings on the deck - staring at a crystal clear sky filled with millions of stars and listening to the waves roll in.
At first glance this cutie of a rental with unique character may seem small compared to other homes on the block in this well-kept neighborhood, but don't be fooled. There's plenty of room for 10+ with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. And don't forget the "bonus space" on the bottom floor. This area has a second (smaller) kitchen and living room with TV. Plenty of room for the teens to have there own space away from the adults. You'll also find a meticulously landscaped yard, outside shower house and an outside Florida room with a grill.
In addition to having found a lovely home-away-from-home, we’ve also completely fallen in love with the island. The beauty of Emerald Isle is it’s full of activities with a laid back family feel. No hustle and bustle here like a more commercialized beach destination “a little further South” of here. Visit Ft. Macon State Park and take a free tour of a civil war fort located on the beach. If you need a day to do something other than the soak up the sun, take the short trip to Beaufort for shopping, good eats and Blackbeard’s house. The aquarium’s near by and Professor Hacker’s putt-putt is a must. And don’t forget an evening stroll on the pier.
Emerald Isle (and Coastal Manor) are the southern Outer Banks best kept secrets. Come and visit, but shhh…. please don’t tell ALL your friends :)
Enjoy the NC Aquariurm in Pine Knoll Shores less than 10 miles away, Fort Macon State Park at Atlantic Beach where admission is free and you can relive the history of the Civil War battles which took place there, Historic Beaufort which was the home to Blackbeard, Maritime Museum in Beaufort, Deep Sea Fishing charters nearby, Croatan National Forest walking trails in Cedar Point, Pedestrian Ferry at Hammocks Beach State Park is the only way to get to Bear Island where you can explore the undeveloped and unspoiled barrier island. There is a bike/ walking path nearby that runs through the town. New boating ramp nearby on the Sound Side of the Island and the driveway of the house is large enough to park a boat and trailer.
