We offer the use of 3 dinghies: motor, rowing and sailing. We also have canoes. Life jackets are provided. Please note that from the end of October until Easter, the boats are unavailable, as they are put away and refitted during this time.
A maid service is available; all fortnightly bookings receive maid service after the first week. There are many excellent local pubs and restaurants locally, including a recently refurbished gastro pub, 'The Ship Inn', in the nearest village of Mawgan in Meneage. Fresh fish is landed on the quay. There is a pretty waterfront garden just for Bishops Quay guests. Wireless broadband is now installed throughout the house and outside. Access is available to you at no extra charge. This is a property of great interest: unique, quiet and a much loved holiday home. Many guests return year after year.
Short breaks are available out of season (November until Easter) by arrangement. These are charged at a daily rate of 1/7 of the weekly rental plus a £35 arrangement fee to cover costs.
Also out of season (November until Easter) a reduction of £50 per week is offered to a couple booking the house, excluding short breaks.
To book or enquire about the house either email us as shown or telephone 01326 221 297. Deposits are 1/3 of the total price with the balance due six weeks before you arrive. Last minute bookings are payable in full 5 days before by cheque or on arrival in cash.
We will do everything we can to make your holiday relaxing and enjoyable. Please let us know if there is anything further you need.
Guest Book:
Beautiful setting, wonderful river, great house for our week (lucky with the weather too!). Thanks for such a great floral welcome. The wine, the (vanishing) flapjacks and brownies et al - all much appreciated. We all enjoyed our stay in our different ways: we read, we looked, we rowed, we walked, we drew and painted, and yes, we 'just' managed to sail too. But best of all, we relaxed. Smashing to see Heart of Oak and its produce: monkfish, lobsters, scallops - thanks to Rowly and crew, Ben and of course, George. Lovely fresh food from Gear farm. Thanks too for leaving a history of the house and family; it makes BQ even more interesting and enjoyable. Good luck with the rest of the season. The fishing, the cooking. Oh and we nearly forgot: the birds, especially the egrets . . . love, The Shearings
Other Activities:
Rowing from the house; also use of a motor boat and sailing dinghy
