Healdsburg's nine-hole Tayman Park Golf Course features some of the most picturesque views in Sonoma County; nearby Windsor Golf Club's 6,650-yard, par-72 championship course traverses a year-round creek, lakes, and oak trees and has hosted six PGA Nike Tour events. Northwood Golf Club in Monte Rio is a scenic and challenging public nine-hole course, designed in 1928 by architect Allistair Mackenzie, famous for Augusta National and Cypress Point.

Casino Gambling: For those interested in testing their luck, nearby River Rock Casino offers 1,600 state-of-the-art slot machines, including video poker, progressives, and many popular machines. There are also 16 tables featuring Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker, and Blackjack; offering the most liberal rules in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Best times to visit Healdsburg: Summer reservations fill up quickly, so advance bookings are strongly recommended. Spring and Fall months are normally less crowded, but are becoming more popular each year because the weather is very pleasant and the scenery is picturesque. Winter is the 'secret' season, a great time to escape with friends or family to your own riverside hideaway. Wineries are less crowed so you receive more personalized attention.

What a charming, clean and well-maintained hide-away! The redwood grove and river provide the perfect setting for a romantic stay or a fun-filled family trip. Best kept secret in the wine country. Owners provide excellent customer service. We enjoyed it so much that we returned to celebrate my husband's 50th b-day. We recommend: fishing and swimming in the river, picnic and bacci ball at Seghesio winery, table top shuffleboard at the local Healdsburg pub, eating at Willy's, Zin, Barn Diva, and Ravenous, and shopping everywhere in Healdsburg.
