Queen beds in each of the 3+ bedrroms, queen hide-a-bed is in upstairs family room, and queen air-mattress with electric pump available, as well.

The listed base rate is for up to two adults. Additional adults are $15.00 per person, per night. Up to 2 children stay free. No security deposit required for up to 8 guests. A flat cleaning rate of $100.00 is be added to the total. A $100.00 deposit will hold your reservation. Remainder due 2 weeks prior to check-in date. Rates subject to change during certain holidays and events.

Custom details and woodwork abound in this home, owned by a master craftsman. Concrete counters downstairs, large master shower with two shower heads. Fresh cotton quilts and luxury bedding, plenty of fluffy white towels in the bathrooms.

Central location provides easy access to freeway and downtown. The Elkay House is located in north Eugene in a nice, quiet River Road residential neighborhood.

About Debbie and Curt

Debbie and Curt married in 2009. His building expertise and her love of house design are evident in the Elkay House. We are always working on a new building or house project. We love to travel - especially to Europe. Prior to meeting Debbie, Curt took three years and sailed to Hawaii and then New Zealand. We enjoy life, each other, our 5 boys and their families, and the process of design and building.

Our guests comment on how they enjoy the fine wood craftsmanship that Curt has done throughout the house, as well as several fine pieces of furniture he has made (such as juniper beds). Additional features such as a cabinet with bus tubs in the kitchen so that dirty dishes never have to be out, a central laundry with chutes from the master and upstairs bathroom, hand-crafted art glass feature windows designed by Debbie and a KitchenAid mixer is popular for the cooks that stay.

We stayed at the Elkay house for a family reunion. The house was wonderful. It looks like it has recently been updated and modernized to include little nooks and crannys in every room. the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen were perfect.
There is a fire pole in the living room. Be forewarned! Every time you touch it, the pole rattles the bedroom upstairs! Not a good thing for anyone trying to sleep in that room.
I would have liked to know that there was a tenant in the back before I rented the home. It was uncomfortable for me. The literature said "you'll hardly know she's there!" but we ran into her at every turn. We weren't loud or inappropriate by any means, but her presence made us feel watched.
Over all the house was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay at the Elkay house.
Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Elkay House. The bolts on the fire pole were loose because of recent retexturing and painting in the living room. It has since been tightened up snug, and no longer makes noise. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. The rental agreement that is accepted before making a deposit does include information that there is a tenant in a separate apartment over the shop. We realize not everybody reads the document before moving forward, which may have been there case here. The apartmet is not over the vacation house, so noise is never an issue. A 6' privacy fence creates a courtyard in the back of the Elkay vacation house for privacy. We take great pride in providing a clean, well equipped rental with a homey atmosphere at the Elkay House, and are glad that you chose it for your family reunion.

Wonderful Choice!

In town for a wedding, we had originally planned on a hotel but then opted for a house rental to better visit with family coming from three states. So very glad we did! The house was beautiful with much attention to built in details. My uncle who is a carpenter talked of nothing else while we were there and plans to use some of the ideas in the lake house he and his wife are updating. My almost three year old son played happliy in the little upstairs playroom almost the whole time we were there. And everyone got a kick out of the firepole, including my mom...we'll all laugh at that video for years to come! The house was everything we were hoping for and so much more. Thank you!

Very, very comfy!

We were moving our younger daughter in early at U of O to correspond with her job interview. She's a one year junior transfer student from U of Hawaii Manoa. Oh my what a find this house was! Even booking motels around that time can be a challenge. Her older sister joined us from Santa Barbara. We were all so comfy. Wonderful to be able to do our laundry, cook our own meals, sleep in our own beds. Very easy location to navigate Eugene and surrounding areas from. The owners were wonderful when we needed to change our dates a bit. This is the way to go. I can't recommend it enough.

Great Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in September 2012. The house is really nice and functional and the owners easy to work with.

Highlights:
* Very comfortable place to stay
* Everything in working order
* Exceptional cleanliness
* Great kitchen
* Well stocked
* Fire pole - who has a fire pole in their living room? An unexpected treat for sure!

The only disappointment was that the BBQ did not have any fuel or tank (or we couldn't find any and nothing in the instructions provided).

The location is fine as long as you have a car.

We would definitely seriously consider returning to this house next time we need to stay in Eugene. The house is a better deal and provides far better amenities than any hotel in the area.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words about your stay at the Elkay House. I am sorry you were not able to barbecue. It hooks up to a natural gas hose with a coupler, behind a little door in the siding. However, you would have no way to know that as I neglected to include it in the the instructions. I've since added it, and have labeled the door to boot - we appreciate your bringing it to our attention.

The girls and I stay here during a class retreat and loved it. Everything in the home was very well organized and beautifully decorated. We felt very at home. Very clean and cozy. Thank you for sharing this fabulous property with us. We would love to rent from you again!
