Debbie and Curt married in 2009. Curt, a builder, grew up in Oakville, Washington. Debbie is originally from Sacramento California, but has lived in Eugene since 1995. She has a 9 to 5 and loves house design. The Elkay House, built in 2000, was designed by Debbie. Curt has since made additions and improvements to it. Together, Debbie and Curt design new homes, which Curt then builds to sell.
We like to travel and between us have visited 26 countries. Prior to meeting Debbie, Curt sailed solo for 3 years; to Hawaii, then made his way to New Zealand.
We enjoy sports, photography, writing and especially our combined 5 adult boys and their growing families. We have a 2 acre place on the Mohawk River in Marcola, Oregon, which keeps us busy.
Debbie and Curt McKim purchased this house in 2000

This was a great rental experience. This is a beautiful, very customized home, clean, with every amenity one could wish for, great customer service from the owners, Debbie & Curt. I would recommend it without reservation.
BTW, I'm an avid DIY home remodeler and this house, designed by the owners, is a cornucopia of clever and functional ideas for storage and space utilization, not to mention the firehouse-type pole for sliding down from the upper floor! -- it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so I slid down twice! ;-) Fun place.
Thanks to Debbie and Curt for sharing their home.

We thoroughly enjoyed having this rental for our family gathering at Thanksgiving 2014. There were 3 families staying at the house and it was certainly large enough to accommodate all of us. The cooks were especially thrilled with the extensive collection of cooking equipment available for the dinner preparation. The house is very comfortable and in an excellent location in Eugene. Thanks for sharing it!
Love this house. Always perfect. We shall return!
Our trip's purpose was to visit with a family member who was down from Alaska. We planned on staying at the same motel he was in, but didn't really like the idea of sitting around a motel room visiting. I found Elkay house on-line and made a last minute reservation. I got a quick resposne from the owner, communication was clear and booking was a breeze.
The house was PERFECT for our visit. We planned on eating out, but the kitchen and dining table were so inviting, we ended up cooking dinner and breakfast in. We loved sharing drinks on the patio and imagine our surprise to find a fire pole in the living room. (My husband is a recenely retired firefighter!) The home was beautiful and it had many perfect touches that made it feel like home. Sandy, our property manager, was lovely to deal with. I sincerly give this experience a true thumbs up.
We stayed at this home for several days while preparing for our daughter's wedding in Eugene. All of the hotels were booked for the NCAA track championships, and we are so delighted that we were forced to look for lodging elsewhere, and ended up staying at the Elkay House. The owners are responsive and kind, the large master bathroom was perfect for getting dolled up as mother of the bride, and there is detailed information about the house that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The house is large, the kitchen is fabulous, the rooms are comfortable, the flowers were blooming in the yard....it was perfect for us. It was nice to know that Sandy, who lives in a separate building behind the house, was close and available if we needed anything. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
What a wonderful place to stay! We had water damage at our home and stayed 6 nights in the only Hotel in Eugene with a kitchen for over $240.00 and then found this wonderful home with everything and more than you could ask for. Location was closer to our kids school than our own home and easy to access local restaurants and grocery stores. The kitchen had everything you would ever need for small families or a family reunion. The interior has very unique wood work through out that you won't find anywhere. Master suite has a walk-in shower with two shower heads and all the soap, shampoo, conditioner and tea tree oil you can use. Front room has a great stereo with surround, flat screen TV and don't forget the Fire Poll. Up dated appliances, washer and dryer.....great location all around. It was like house sitting for a friend and so much better than any hotel!!!
On site manager was very helpful and easy to get a hold of. Owner was great to work with and let us stay for two additional days at a discounted price due to our home not being ready for us to move back into.
This place had everything you could ask for and then some!
Highly recommend staying here!!!!!!
