Pure Luxury in Paradise 5 Bed Villa with Pool

This was our Christmas break including 4 adults from Canada and 1 15 year old as well as 2 adults from Nassau. Geargetown and environs are very bucolic. People are gracious and friendly. Stocking Island is a must visit and while there the "Chat and Chill" is perect for a lazy extended lunch. Contact "Starfish" for a great kayaking adventure. The Exuma Yachts Club and Peace and Plenty are great plavces for lunch and dinner respectfully--BUT a real treat is Cheaters--just 5 minutes further away from Georgetown, toward Rolletown. The food is fantastic and Cheater (Julian) is a great host. Also do not mis the grits and corned beef breakfast. The Villa was fine and perfect for a 3 family grouping. AC was a bit hit and mis and leaked water and the wifi was also dodgy--but one does not go to a tropical paradise to worry too much about wifi. Beds were very comfortable and the place was clean. Margot looked after getting us some groceries before we arrived and also made us an incredible lobster thirmidor for Christmas dinner as nothing was open upon our arrival. Great place at a fare proce.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely villa. Every room is extremely spacious with high ceilings. There are three huge updated bathrooms with giant tubs. The bedrooms are all nicely furnished the kitchen had almost anything else you would need. The pool area is lovely, nicely landscaped and has nice quality outdoor furniture. There is a neat little lookout tower that overlooks the water. There is a small beach across the street but it is not one I would swim in. There are some really gorgeous deserted beaches a few minutes past Georgetown toward the airport. This villa is very convenient to town, that is important because there really are very few restaurants on the island and it is convenient to have a few restaurants, a gas station and a market within a few min. from your villa.
The owner responded quickly to any questions and our security deposit was returned quickly.
The property was pretty well maintained, there were a few broken cabinets in the kitchen and the wifi did not work while we were there - I think this was due to storms. It is nicely furnished, the style is very modern.
There is a nice little book that has some restaurant suggestions and activity suggestions. This was very helpful.
We really enjoyed our day trip to the Cays, you haven't seen Exuma till you have done this!! There are some beautiful beaches that are pretty much deserted. All of the restaurants we ate at were good, a few stood out, Catch A fire, Santannas, Augusta Bay and Peace and Plenty. Try to find Tropic of Cancer beach, its really beautiful. Take the ferry over to stocking island, I liked Big D's a little better, less crowded and it has a great trail to the ocean side of the island with breathtaking views.
We rented our car through Thompsons car rental, they made it so easy, the car was at the airport when we arrived and we just left it there on departure.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Ella Mae...the house was just beautiful. The house and location were exactly what my wife and I were looking for, unfortunately the weather was not as beautiful as the Villa but if one has to be shut in for a few days, this is the place. We will definitely be back again. Thanks for everything.
