The home was very nicely decorated and maintained. It was a true New Orleans lifestyle right down to the young man playing saxophone on his front steps nearby one morning. Susan went above and beyond what most homeowners do to prepare for arrival. She was so kind as to drop of coffee and cream (and some wine and snacks) as she knew we were flying in, heading to a parade and would make it to her home very late. Only in NOLA ! We communicated by email or text a few times before and after we arrived so we both knew that everything was going well. I would recommend this home to any of my friends and family and hope to visit again soon myself. Thanks for everything !
The home is set in a quiet residential area which is a short walk or drive from cafes, restaurants, Tulane, and the streetcar. It is tastefully decorated and the layout provides the perfect balance of privacy and community. The place was very clean and we found it so convenient to have a kitchen, spacious dining areas, and a washer-dryer in the unit. This is the second time in the space of a year that I have rented this house--the first time was for three generations of family members and the second was for a group of friends--and each time we found that this upscale home more than met our needs. If all this wasn't enough, Susan the owner is simply awesome. She was extremely helpful and welcoming--truly an excellent ambassador to this special city!
"We had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed the house very much. The bedrooms were good size, the living room comfortable. It was clean and attractively furnished. We were able to drive to the French Quarter and other parts of town without any difficulty."
Our group, consisting of two couples and a fifth person were blessed to find this perfect location minutes from downtown, close to public transportation, and the comfort of a home away from home.
This location provided a wonderful retreat on a weekend when spontaneous travelers took teh trip of a lifetime for our team's appearance in the final four. We had a great stay in the city and this house proved to be the foundation of a great trip.
The house was quite spacious, open, and very comfortable! It is very close to many great areas of town, but just far enough removed to have no parking issues and the right amount of retreat from the bustle and party atmosphere of the French quarter. We could easily join the festivities from this location, and just as easily retreat for some much needed recuperation time in this charmingly peaceful setting.
The amenities and decor was very suitable, clean, and welcoming. Everything we needed for the home away from home was provided. The property was the perfect mix of modern decor in a historical setting.
We particularly enjoyed being close to some great local fare on St Charles as well as the quaint shops and restaurants on Magazine.
The owner was super nice, very accommodating, very welcoming, and a blessing to find for our spontaneous adventure to the Big Easy! I would definitely recommend this property to a family or group of people looking for a quaint home away from home to make their trip to New Orleans just the right mix of fun and relaxation.
