This Open floor plan on the main floor has a beautiful living room with 24 ft pine ceilings, chalet windows and french doors to enjoy the magnificant view. The cozy rock-gas fireplace is so convenient ( no dirty firewood to handle). Across the room is a gourmet kitchen with high quality black whirlpool appliances. The matching rock island and glass top cooktop is imaculate and a good center of attention. With custom curly maple cabinets, knotty pine wood floors, walls and ceiling, you really are in an authentic log cabin. Also on the main floor is a dining room, powder/laundry room and the Master Bedroom with the most comfortable King size bed , plenty of closet space and a large bathroom with a walk in shower and 2 sinks.
Upstairs is a large, private, loft /bedroom that overlooks the entire great room below, but still offers plenty of privacy for people staying up there. It has the most beautiful views thru the chalet windows you've ever seen. (see my sunrise photo). There is a LOG queen bed, and a sleeper sofa . An electric fireplace inside the log armoire. The spacious bathroom with tub and shower.. Sitting at the massive Log desk drinking your morning coffee, watching the sunrise. makes this a favorite room in the house..
The bottom level has been knicknamed Kids Kave.(3rd BR) It's bright and cheerful down stairs with french doors to the outside and with a view..The Kids Kave may be too cold to sleep comfortably in Winter. I would prefer everyone sleep upstairs during the colder months. Mom::. A closet holds extra dining chairs, table leaves, card table with chairs.
The house also includes Satelite WIRELESS internet, so bring your laptop. * internet is slower in the mountains than the big cities, but so is the pace of life in the mountains. Direct TV, Trane Heat pump & air. A whole house automatic generator in case of power outage.
The dining table has 6 chairs & 2 leaves. Room for 2 extra chairs you will find down stairs. Living room seats 6 comfortably to watch the flatscreen tv. There are books to read, or cd's to watch. Or hook your computer with netflex to tv and see movies.
The best place is swinging on the deck overlooking the beautiful, relaxing view. Table and chairs under the umbrella on deck also is very inviting to eat out there.
Our area of Bryson City boasts Fishing, Rafting, Boating, Kyaking, Horseback riding, Biking, Canoeing, Hiking all within 15 min. from home. Little Tenn. River is at base of Glory Mt. for Fly Fishing or get that 30 lb catfish...Fontana Lake is 35 Miles of wonderful fishing, & out of this world views. Launch your boat or rent one at Almond Boat Dock. Jet Boat rides are available at the beginning of Needmore Rd. The World Famous Nantahala Outdoor Center has been on GMA, and is only 15min away, and has 3 restaurants on site. You will pass Nantahala Village Inn with '13 Moons Restaurant for fine dining.
For Night Life, Try Smoky Mountain Theater of Performing Arts, in Franklin 40 min. down Needmore River Rd. OR There's Harrah's Cherokee Casino with lots of entertainment. It also has the new Paula Deen's restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (reservations for dinner).
Of course the kids want to go see the Cherokee indians dancing beside the road, and do some shopping. Winter offers Polar Express right here in town. Ski Resort area less than an hr. away with man made snow IF natural snow is not available.
SOOOO MUCH, SOOOO NEAR. Have a wonderful vacation, and I hope to hear from you. This is not just a rental cabin, it's a home away from home. You can have fun hiking all over this mountain also.
