Sleeps 8 - Three bedrooms plus LR futon - Two full baths - Excellent kitchen

Renovated in 2012, Norway Lake Cabin is located on a three-acre flat lot with shoreline on two sheltered bays. Property features on-site boat landing and dock. On-site garage, ample parking for boat trailers, hookups for additional travel trailer during cabin rental. Two seating areas in the LR, a large air conditioned 3-season porch with gas fireplace, a front deck with lake view. Lakeside gazebo with screens. Grandma will appreciate the flat lot and only two steps into cabin. Kids will enjoy catching panfish from the dock. Young children will be entertained playing on the sand beach and gently sloping lake bed. The kitchen is large, well lit, and fully equipped. The dining area has lake view. The master bedroom features a lake view and jaccuzi tub. 2.5-mile tarred road with no through traffic ideal for walking, biking, or roller blading. A resort on the same lake rents boats and pontoons on a daily basis.

The owners have enjoyed the cabin next door for thirty years. If asked, they are eager to share information about the many historical, geographical, and recreational sites in the area. The cabin's long lot provides privacy from the road. Environmental lakes are quieter than recreation lakes. All water sports are possible, but you won't hear much boat or jet-ski noise. Norway Lake is ideal for small sailboats, fishing, kayakking and canoeing. A canoe and PFDs are available at no charge.

Norway Lake Cabin features a library of books and games. Outdoor equipment includes croquet, ladder golf, bocce, bean-bag toss, badminton, and volleyball. Cabin includes access to a storm shelter. Cell phone coverage is good and a list of nearby wi-fi sites is provided.

About Robin Stegner and Scott Larson

Scott Larson purchased property on Norway Lake 30 years ago...for duck hunting. Scott and Robin enjoy the calm, natural environment at Norway Lake. Bird watching is excellent, deer visit regularly, and they catch bass from their canoe along the shoreline.

Scott's family has been in the furniture business for four generations. He operates Larson's Home Furnishings in Redwood Falls and Marshall, Minnesota.

Why Robin Stegner and Scott Larson chose Willmar

When the cabin next door came up for sale in September 2011, Scott and Robin purchased it to create an opportunity for grandparents to make memories at the lake with their grandchildren.

'Going to the lake' is a Minnesota tradition. Norway Lake Cabin provides the space...both indoors and out...for three or even four generations to get together for games, meals, water sports, and relaxation.

What makes this cabin unique

Norway Lake Cabin was a year-round retirement home. Therefore it has all the comforts and amenitites of a home...air conditioning, central heat, a great kitchen, and room to spread out. The yard is large and flat, perfect for games or letting children run free. There is a gentle slope to the lake and a gentle slope in the lake, making the beach, water, and dock accessible to all.

Notes

  • $1700/week
  • Weekly renters who choose self-clean option, including washing all linens and re-making beds, receive a $200 refund within two weeks of departure. If you prefer not to clean, 24-hour notification in advance of checkout must be provided. Renters self-cleaning check out by noon Sunday. Renters not cleaning check out by 9:00 am to allow time for preparing the cabin for the next guests.

    2013 rate is $1700 plus sales tax of $116.88; The self-clean refund includes sales tax refund of $13.75.

    No extra charges for day guests or overnight guests.
  • One travel trailer may be parked on site during rental period. $15/day will be charged for the week for water and power hookup.

    Rates do not include insurance for any personal property and/or equipment.
