Great apartment, great location.

I got married in Old San Juan and chose this apartment for its proximity to the cathedral. It was perfect for our needs and purposes. The entire apartment was air conditioned which is rare in Old San Juan and such a plus. The only negative is that you don't get much of a view since you're staring straight at the cathedral wall when in the apartment. Also the bedrooms are all interior so no windows. This sounds like a big negative but we really didn't mind it once we were in such a beautiful apartment.

Great place for family of 6 to vacation!

  • 5 of 5
This apartment was clean, comfortable, roomy, and well-equipped. Our four kids (16-10 years old) all enjoyed having enough room, a full kitchen where they cooked their own allergy-safe food, washed delicious fresh fruit, and fried plantains for the first time. Wifi was reliable in the master bedroom. The air conditioning had a slight fault, but the manager, Annett was friendly & efficient; she had a worker out to fix it immediately. The building has an elevator, and narrow stairs for the impatient and energetic. Street parking is very tight, but when we arrived Wanda met us with the keys, had saved us a space, and persuaded a local policeman to let us park in front long enough to unload our luggage; we would recommend using the public lot at the foot of the hill as the most economical option.

The apartment is in a great location in the heart of old San Juan, within steps of a 500 year old cathedral, shops, restaurants, even a beautiful little museum dedicated to Felisa Rincon, first woman elected mayor of San Juan whose social programs inspired Head Start in the US. The National Park sites are all within walking distance and have so much history; Puerto Rico was the first place to water after an Atlantic crossing. A small supermarket is just a few blocks away, and we passed so many enticing restaurants.

We used a rental van to take day trips out to the rain forest at El Yunque National Forest, a beautiful place to hike and enjoy the local flora and fauna. Food service there was rudimentary, but adequate. The humidity and warm rain were so different from California; I wished we had more time to hike the trails. We also made a day trip out to see the radio telescope at the Arecibo Observatory, where the world's largest single-aperature telescope was built in the 1950's. It is still an important research tool today. Our kids were amazed and impressed. There is a very good museum there; you can spend hours at the many displays.

We didn't use the balcony as much as I had expected, mostly because the heat inclined us to turn on the air conditioning instead. For early risers and those who visit during cooler times, the balcony is a great place to observe the quaint cobbled streets and church forecourt. Close enough to everything but far enough to be quiet for restful nights. I would highly recommend this apartment as a base to explore all of Puerto Rico, whether for a long weekend, a week or two, or longer!

Roomy Apartment in Great Location

  • 5 of 5
This three bedroom, two bath apartment is right in the heart of Old San Juan. It is right next to El Convento Hotel and the cathedral. We were literally a stones throw from Ponce de Leon's resting place. We enjoyed sitting on the small balcony and watching weddings, park goers and lively groups of tourists. The apartment is very large, comfortable and well equipped. The manager was very responsive and friendly. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Old San Juan.

Great condo in a charming location

  • 5 of 5
My family and I returned recently from a wonderful vacation in Puerto Rico to celebrate Christmas, 2013. We stayed in a lovely, spacious condo at Calle de la luna 103, located across the street from the Cathedral in the heart of Old San Juan. The condo was fully equipped with many amenities, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living room and a front balcony from which we enjoyed listening to all the carols on Christmas eve as well as watching a wedding at the Cathedral over the weekend. We were only steps away from all the festivities in the local squares and parks. I highly recommend the condo for its convenience, charm, and cleanliness.

Just like home

  • 5 of 5
Just like home but with a better view and all day sunshine! Plus the help and experience of Irma. Use the company she recommends for rain forest tours, Asha is fabulous! We had a great family vacation here Thanksgiving 2013 and it was a great time and a great place to rest in between bio Kay, shopping, eating and the rainforest. Irma said we may encounter a problem with hot water but it never happened thank God, it was a great home. Just remember to bring your own wash cloths!

Gorgeous, comfortable, with a great location.

  • 5 of 5
We had a total of 6 graduate students on break for thanksgiving stay at Calle de la Luna and absolutely loved it! It had a great location, very clean and comfortable, Irma was so helpful, we really couldn't have asked for more! We were in walking distance of pretty much anything in Old San Juan, and always felt very safe walking home. I would recommend staying here for anyone who has a group of 4+ coming to the San Juan area!
