This home is back on the market for summer rentals. It has 4 bedrooms with 2 decks; one 2nd level off master & one1st level. River views from the deck off master). Bed Setup: Master has 1 full bed + 1 twin;, 2nd & 3rd are small bedrooms, each has 1 twin; The 4th bedroom on the 1st level is a full size bed. There may be a daybed or another twin in the living room. Sleeps total of 7 in beds, possibly 8 total utilizing if daybed or twin is in the living room (not confirmed yet). The home is 3 houses from the ocean.. Harbor views views from deck. Microwave, shower (no tub), enclosed outside shower, Cable TV, washer/dryer, gas BBQ grille, picnic tables, large back yard (sandy, not grassy), with low fence. Please note there is a spiral staircase to access the upstairs. Only steps to beach, the docks, fishing, shops & restaurants at Camp Ellis. It will take less than a minute around the corner to walk to the sandy beach. Set back off of the road, away from traffic. Parking for 4 cars. Note: I was able to get a wireless signal on my laptop from the area. Bring your laptop too if you want (no guarantee but it did work for me. Pets okay.
Camp Ellis is a popular family vacation area, unspoiled by high rises.
Saco beaches are named: Kinney Shore, Bayview, Ferry Beach & Camp Ellis. Kinney Shores is adjacent to Old Orchard. Ferry Beach, Camp Ellis & Bayview are located about 2 miles south of Old Orchard Beach and are at the ocean on Saco Bay. (see info below). Bayview is a little more prestigious area. Old Orchard has amusements & gift shops. From the beach, it’s about 5 miles to Funtown which is a theme park & water park; about 7 miles to the Aquaboggin, a water park; 5 miles to major supermarkets. Another attraction is “bird watching”, especially at the Scarborough Marsh, which is about a 5-minute drive from Old Orchard & 10 minutes from Saco. Others nearby are the Saco Heath, Kennebunk Plains, Two-Lights in Scarborough (in the off season) &, Biddeford Pool to name a few.
The Old Orchard Beach/Saco exit is Exit 36 mile marker once you're on the Maine Turnpike (I-95). Saco & Old Orchard are about 30 or so minutes north of Wells & Kennebunk areas. Ocean Park (is part of Old Orchard) & Pine Point (Scarborough-is about 1-1/2 miles north of Old Orchard). Both are also similar areas - both are very popular areas and definitely family oriented as are the beach areas in Saco. There's a petting zoo in York, also about 40 minutes south and a smaller petting farm in Scarborough, about 30 mins. from Saco.
Bayview is adjacent to Ferry Beach and some of the properties are more “private”. This area is a little more “upscale”. Nice wide beach here.
Ferry Beach & Camp Ellis are quaint areas, catering to families, sandy beaches (smaller one at Camp Ellis), unspoiled by high rises. We’re 3 miles south of Old Orchard, a 2 to 3-minute car ride but is walkable.
From Ferry Beach in Saco it’s a short walk to Camp Ellis where the Saco River meets the ocean. There is great fishing in both areas.
At the Saco beaches, when you go to the beach and have to go back for lunch, etc., you will not need to bring your blanket or chairs back. No one will touch them when you’re gone. It’s that type of beaches and areas catering to families and are great for little kids. Families return here year after year for vacations.
Camp Ellis is a 'Fishing Village' area….now dotted with newly-remodeled. It is still an active fishing area for commercial lobstermen & fishermen. You can go over to the dock and watch both fishing vessels and pleasure boats.
Nearby is the Camp Ellis General Store which features daily lobster catch during season & will cook to perfection while you wait or return to pick them up. They also serve breakfast. In Camp Ellis you can also buy lobsters at 'boat prices directly from our friend & neighbor, the lobsterman Dean Coniaris, the 'Fish ‘n Optician'. You’d have to cook them yourself if bought from him.
Deep-sea fishing boats leave from the docks in Camp Ellis. Kayak rentals are nearby for use on the Saco River, which goes out to the ocean at Saco Bay.

You can also fish right off Surf St. in Ferry Beach at high tide or off the beach itself. The tackle shop in Camp Ellis is on the dock area. You can fish off the beaches also. Streets leading to and from the dock are each one-way; North Ave. one way going in & Eastern Ave. is one-way leaving the area.
