Villa Maria -Calis Beach, Calis (pronounced Chalish). An excellent equipped newly built detached villa, within 20 minutes walk to the beach & fabulous restaurants. It boasts its own south facing swimming pool with surrounding patio area with well needed shade in the summer months which are also south facing. Fethiye is 15 minutes on the local Dolmus(shared taxi) which has a stunning marina with amazing restaurants to please all, its a must !! Olundeniz beach is 20 minutes on the Dolmus which is known for its famous blue lagoon & sandy white beaches. Fantastic mountain views no matter what time of year, 20 minute walk from the night life. It also has a wonderful outside space comprising of the pool, dining area & a sun bathing area as well as the spectacular views and quiet surroundings. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the villa having external lighting.

Calis is a charming and laid back holiday resort, with 2km beach. The seafront has an attractively paved promenade lined with plenty of friendly bars and restaurants. Calis is famous for its dramatics and beautiful red sunsets and Calis has something for everyone. From Calis you are able to get Water Taxi's to Fethiye which take about 30 min and costs 12 Turkish Lire each way (£6 for a family of 4). Once in Fethiye the area is a mixture of mountains, fertile valleys, olive groves and many hidden beaches and rocky coves. The most famous beach is at Oludeniz with bright golden sands ending in a teardrop beach protecting an azure lagoon. For active holiday seekers there are numerous sporting activities available including white water rafting, horse riding, paragliding from Mount Baba, kite surfing, quad biking, mountain biking, diving, sailing etc. There are Jeep Safaris and a huge natural gorge at Sakilkent for boat lovers there are numerous boat trips.

  • Bed linen and towels provided on arrival there is charge of £45.00 for cleaning after the1 or 2 weeks if you require cleaning mid-week the charge is £30.00 a week Please bring your own beach towels. £200 deposit for damages/breakages required and returned within 2 weeks of departure subject to villa inspection. There are 2 bikes available to hire at the villa for £10.00 a week each.
  • A deposit of 25% on the time of booking and the £200.00 deposit for damages/breakages and any other optional charges (as above) if you have chosen any to be paid with booking.
    Any bookings cancelled within 8 weeks of departure forfeit deposit. Airport transfers available 1-3 people 35.00, 4-8 40.00 each way. (payable locally)

12 Island Boat Trip : The only way to enjoy the Twelve Islands (Oniki Adalari) is to cruise in the Turkish gullet or take a daily boat trip. Gullet cruises provide access to tourist free secluded bays wher you can snorkel, swim and climb the cliffs or just relax. The trip includes visiting Afodit Koya (Cleopatra's Bath) an ancient ruined abth where Cleopatra supposedly bathed when she was travelling en route from Egypt to Rome. It is said that swimming here will give you true beauty!! You will also visit Merdivenli (Step Ladder Bay) which has an ancient cave cut into the side of the rock. Another island Tersane Adasi (Shipyard Island) has ruins of an ancient shipyard and one island that will get the children excited is St Nicholas Island after the famous man who wears the red suit, this island is full of 4th century ruins from the days when St Nicholas used to worship here. However it is uo to the parents to explain to the puzzled kids how he travelled from here to Lapland!!!!

Fethiye: Fethiye which has stunning marina also fabulous restaurants to suit all, Olundeniz well known for its famous blue lagoon and white sandy beaches and offers a huge variety of water sports. The beach itself stretches for miles with a stunning backdrop of mountains and pine forest. You can watch the para-gliders descend from Mount Babadog to the local islands and beach. If you are wanting more excursions please ask. Say you are staying at Villa Maria in Calis and ask for Yavuz Yildoz he will be more than happy to advice and help you.

Sakilkent Gorge: High in the mountains above Fethiye, rushing torrents of icy cold water have cut a narrow gorge through the mountains over thousands of years creating Saklikent Gorge. A natural wonder, the resulting Canyon is 300 metres deep 18 kilometres long and a breathtaking sight. Saklikent in Turkish means 'Hidden City'. A cool refuge in long hot summer days provides a favorite picnic spot where rustic restaurants overhanging the river serve delicious fresh trout and other local delicacies. During winter the gorge is a popular resort for winter sports. In March and April you can ski in the morning and swim in the warm water of the Mediterranean in the afternoon!!!

Too good to miss!!

My new wife and I stayed at the villa with 2 friends for a week last september. We are all aged between 23-28 and had the perfect holiday. The villa and pool were immaculate, well equipped and well situated. Hakan from next door is an absolute star, always on hand if you have any problems and great company for a late night drink around the pool!

In fact we enjoyed our stay so much we've just booked up for 2 weeks this june for our honeymoon and can't wait to get back to our pool!!!!!

Lina was really helpful & was happy to answer all of my questions before I made the booking. The listing description was accurate & the villa was clean & finished to a high standard. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sun/shade all day long; it is in a raised area so something for those with small children to consider. The villa sleeps 6 with ease; there is plenty of space & storage.
The villa is in a quiet location approximately 15-20 minute walk (walking speed depends on the temperature!) to Chalis Beach where there are bars/restaurants; many on the beach front where you can watch the renowned beautiful sunsets. There are regular dolmus' into Chalis & nearby Fethiye, if you prefer; they cost about 60 pence/person & you get on/off at any point along the route. A car is not essential but if you have children & need a lot of shopping it may be useful to hire a car. Lina arranged transfers on our behalf & the driver offered to stop at a supermarket so we could stock up on supplies (as we arrived in the dark); he also gave us information about dolmus' etc
Hakan the neighbour is very helpful; he stocked up the fridge with water for our arrival so we didn't have to carry large bottles. He was always on hand to ask advice & bid us farewell at 5.30 am!
There are plenty of excursions/boat trips from the Chalis area, including boat trips to bays around the area, private boat hire & sight seeing tours to Saklikent Gorge & other attractions. Butterfly Valley was disappointing but I would recommended the rest! The majority of agents will collect you from the villa or Huzurevi (apparently the local "old people's home"! which is just a 2 min walk from the villa) The dolmus' are easy to use & we used these to go to Olu Deniz - a beautiful lagoon (via Fethiye), which is a must see. There are regular markets in Chalis and neighbouring towns, where local produce and clothes/bags etc are sold; the fresh food is lovely & very reasonably priced. The Turkish people are very friendly and helpful which was an advantage as it was our first holiday to Turkey.
I would not hesitate to recommend this villa and location for a holiday for a wide range of ages and interests.

we were not dissapointed with our choice of villa in calis it is well equipped and clean the pool is very inviting on those hot sunny days, and if you need any help or advice Hakan who lives next door is always happy to help which is very reassuring.It is about a twenty minute walk to the beach where there are plenty of restaurants,bars and shops to choose from and a long promenade to stroll long and watch the beautiful sunsets.There is a market on a sunday where you can have a bit of fun and haggle for a bargain or you can browse among the rows of stalls full of colourful fruit and veg and aromatic herbs and spices not forgetting the turkish delight.If you decide you would like to do something different there are plenty of boat trips and tours on offer, .you can of course take the water taxi to Fethiya which takes about half an hour and is well worth it if you only go and sit on the harbour and have a quiet drink or meal.We loved every minute of our holiday and will not hesitate to return.

Villa Maria is a house with many comfort, and we was staying with 8 Persons,it was so nice for all,for the little kids 5 and 9 year,for the grandma and grandpa,74 and 82 years and for me and my husband 49 years,and the big childs, girl 13 and the boy 18 years.My 9 years old boy is a child with special needs,Down Syndrom, and its was very good that is a gate arround the Villa and Pool,he is a run a way child and so we had no problems. For all olders group the house is super,very clean,modern and practicle Interieurs,and very friendly neighbours,Thanks on Hakan bey and his barbecue.The pool is very clean and every day comes the pool cleaner .This house is a dreamhouse for perfecct Holidays.Every time we booked again.Thanks for all on Lina and her brother giovanni.
Excuse me for my bad english i´m german and my english is that from school and this is 35 years away.

What a wonderful villa!!!

We could not fault the villa in any way. It is exceedingly well equipped and a pleasure to stay in. Calis beach isn't a built up area, but has plenty of restaurants and bars. The 15 minute walk to the beach, shops and restaurants is worth it for there are many good bargains and the food is excellent. There are many excursions on offer, we went with Hamish McTurk. We travelled on a '12 island boat trip' where you could relax and enjoy the coastal pleasures of turkey and we also visited 'Dalyan' where we got to use traditional turkish mud baths and visited turtle bech where loggerhead turtles lay their eggs (we didn't see any turtles though as they only come out at night), you also get to see some historical attractions.
The next door neighbour Hakkan is a legend! he was so helpful, giving us lifts to the supermarket and restaurants, arranging day trips for us and checking on taxis and the flight home. We even joined him at a restaurant to watch the euro 2008 games.
We will definately recommend it to all of our friends and family, and would love to go back.
