An amazingly beautiful setting - not for all:
Even though many modern appliances and amenities are provided and the place is a real dream for the children, I Gotti is not a rental for all. Cars are not allowed in the property boundaries and should be left at the end of the paved street, the centre of a small, safe hamlet. Thence, a very romantic path leads to the house which is about 1 km. walk in the woods (owner will facilitate the arrival and the departure with his own 4x4 pickup truck).
The grounds are about 6.5 ha in size and include an interesting garden with large patches of grass and flowers and a little swimming pool (4 x 2.5 x 1.40 mts.). The property is completely deep-in-the-green with amazingly beautiful woods surrounding (mostly chestnut trees, some of them more than one century old) and a breathtaking view over the valley and the mountains. A wide variety of plants, herbs, wild flowers, berries etc. can be found all over.
Nature! Quiet! Fun! Great for children!:
At I Gotti you can enjoy plenty of options for relaxing in the hammocks slung between trees, sunbathing next to the pool, mushrooming or chestnut picking even in the immediate premises (in season), trekking, birdwatching, swimming in the river below, etc.. Chairs, garden furniture, tables, a barbecue and a bread and/or pizza oven are provided for your enjoyment along with an open-air massage table, a sun-heated shower next to the pool, more. A beautiful, large wooden gazebo built at the threshold of the woods by the owner (an architect) is at your disposal for dancing, playing, star watching, chatter or meditate under the gorgeous, starry Tuscan sky. A terrace and a sundeck overlook the breathtaking river valley. Wildlife such as wild boars, deers, foxes etc. can be spotted at times. Quiet, silence and seclusion are total in this typical, rural Tuscan setting.
Day trips - More swimming - Your own cook:
- Day trips to the most famous gems of Tuscany (Florence, Pisa, Siena, Arezzo, Volterra, San Gimignano...) are easily made. Bologna, the oldest University in the world and the world-renown culinary capital of Italy, which offers stylish shops, interesting museums and many famous monuments, is only 1.5 hours away.
- Swimming is also possible in the crystal-clear waters of the river below. 5 kms from the house a small waterside restaurant provides the few Summer guests with traditional dishes and cool drinks. For the sea lovers the Adriatic coast and the gorgeous city of Ravenna are only one hour and a half drive – plenty of spots to enjoy the beachlife. About 80 kms. of shore and sandy beach with top glamour and nightlife in Rimini and Riccione.
- A cook can be chartered for an extra to prepare your meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner... your choice) with genuine, typical fingerlicking Tuscan and Bolognese dishes. Ingredients come from local farms - some organic - and food markets.
