Built in 2011; light and airy 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath beach bungalow. Quiet retreat steps from one of only three nationally certified 'clean beaches' on the Great Lakes, and the largest white sand beach in West Michigan. Start your day walking or fishing off the channel, watching the boats cruise by. Afternoons are great spent playing on the all white sand beach and in the clear waters of Lake Michigan. Evenings are wonderful watching the famous Western Michigan sunsets while strolling out to the Red Lighthouse at the end of Pere Marquette. Or, stay home and relax on the huge front porch, enjoying the Lake Michigan Breezes.
Master bedroom on the first floor, fully appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Enjoy the fireplace in the family room on those cooler nights at the beach. Have fun heading out to the back deck to grill, or go down to the fire pit to make late light s'mores!
Great 'beach forest' steps from the house, explore the dunes all the way to Muskegon Lake. Walk down to the Channel to the Historic National Submarine, Sliversides, and take a tour.
Michigan Adventure Theme Park/Water Park, Craig's Cruisers (go carts and miniature golf), Ice Cream Shoppes, Lake Side Emporium Candy, Harbour Towne Theatre, The Frauenthal Theater, 6 State Parks, all easy distances away. Cross Lake Ferry, Boat Charters - fishing and sailing, kite surfing and stand up paddle board lessons offered at Pere Marquette Beach. Catch the local trolley on Beach Street and for 25 cents you can visit local tourist spots. Hiking, birding and dune walks available in the dunes of nearby (12 minute drive) Hoffmaster State Park. Duck Lake State Park is a great family destination and a 'locals' hang out for skim boarding and swimming with smaller children.
Check with the Chamber of Commerce for the many seasonal events and festivals along the lake shore area. We will have local interest information for you at the house.
We needed a place to stay in Michigan for our family and a few friends, and this house fit the bill perfectly. The house is immaculate, comfortable, and decorated with that "coastal cottage" look - beautiful! We enjoyed the walking path, the beaches & lighthouse, the backyard fire pit and 'photo booth', the yard games, the front porch . . .& the house was equipped with everything we needed for a fun family weekend. Very grateful and would definitely rent here again!
We had a fairly large bridal party staying at this house, and everyone commented on what a lovely property it was. All of the amenities are provided, including all the kitchen equipment, bathroom toiletries, and furniture you could want. And a fireplace! Great location being so close to the beach, and interacting with Bonny and Robert was so easy and friendly. Definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful beach home. The was house was very clean and well decorated with thoughtful touches for guests throughout. My kids loved the stocked bookshelves, games, Legos, backyard swing and foosball table. I appreciated the kitchen which had everything I needed to cook big family meals, even a giant pot for a lobster boil! The beach was within walking distance with a nice playground. I just could not have been any happier with he home and the location.
The Beach House was very clean and came with a lot of amenities such as books, games, beach toys, a fire pit, and some surprises that are better left to discover on your own! The owners were very friendly, quick to respond to emails, and always had the information we were seeking and then some. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and other things needed to help entertain a large family. The location was very convenient with the awesome white sandy beach one block away or if you like to walk in the woods, there were plenty of trails close by. We enjoyed the trolley ride which was narrated by the driver who shared his knowledge of the interesting history of Muskegon. We also visited nearby towns such as the Dutch Village in Holland, the shops and dancing waters in Grand Haven, the amusement park north of Muskegon, and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Just a short walk from the house was a World War II Museum with a tour of a full sized submarine.
Muskegon and the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan are a beautiful vacation spot and the the beach house will make your stay complete!
My wife and I and our four children aged 8-16 months spent the week at the Family Fun Beach Bungalow.
The property owner was very responsive and helpful. The property itself was excellently maintained and equipped. It had everything anyone would need.
I would recommend this property to anyone - especially those with children. For instance, it is moments from the beach (approx. a block) but not ON the beach. It has a bunkroom, game room downstairs, and plenty of sand/beach toys.
Had the most wonderful family reunion in this newly built very nicely appointed Cape Cod style beach house in the Muskegon Pere Marquette Ovals. It had everything we needed. Loved the sandy yard. Great for beach games in the front and bonfires in the back. Wonderful attractions nearby including one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see. There is a peak a boo view and you have the quiet of being a block off from Pere Marquette Park. If you want to experience a Lake Michigan Beach this is it. Plenty of hiking in the dunes and opportunities for endless strolls along the beach. Muskegon has more and more to offer. Rent this you will not be disappointed.
Nearby attractions include: huge sugar-sand Pere Marquette Beach and lighthouse (steps from front door), restaurants within walking distance, Michigan Adventure Theme Park and Water Park (14 miles/30 mins), the Port City Princess (sunset and dinner cruises), the Muskegon Channel where the Lake Michigan freighter boats quietly pass by and where there is great fishing. Also nearby is a bike/running trail as well as a wooded, sandy trail perfect for exploring and adventuring. Wonderful rivers and lakes to kayak on. Two children's playgrounds within walking distance as is Silversides Historic Submarine Tour. The Lake Express Ferry travels between Muskegon and Milwaukee and is 2 miles away
Boat launch onto Muskegon Lake is less than a mile away Several marinas appx 1 mile away.
