As the last and the best of the Hannah Family Beach cottages, 'SeasCape' was always fondly referred to as #1. There were 9 beach houses, all in Scorton Shores and Sandwich Downs and the Scorton River Motel on 6A which Aunt June and Aunt Lib rented to thousands of guests since the late 1950's. I continue the Hannah Family tradition by meeting and greeting all my new guests and have many return guests year after year. SinceI have been renting this for 35 years and am new to the new online rental business, I still call to make sure this is a good fit. If your vacation needs are all about nature, sea, beach and sky- a quiet, private location and above all, a spectacular Cape Cod Bay view, than it's a great fit!

Wow, what a stay. Coming from an area of the US that never sees snow, our 6-day winter stay during the first week of March was everything I hoped it would be. Your cottage is beautiful and everything we anticipated. The view is spectacular. We experienced the 4 seasons in that one week, from snowfalls to relatively warm weather. The snow was fun too, again giving us variations of the beach. 3 days of snow on the sand, three days the beach was warmer and clear of snow. One day we built a snowman with powdery fresh snow, and the next day it melted. A snowstorm one day and we just hunkered down with the fireplace in the living room and enjoyed the beauty of snow falling and blowing around on the deck through the panoramic picture window on a gray day.
We will be back. Janice & Jeff were so pleasant and extremely accommodating. Looking forward to next year already.
Cheers! (Yes, we visited Cheers in nearby Boston too)

We stayed at the Seascape vacation home for a week in January. Cape Cod is not normally what one thinks of when thinking of winter vacation getaways, but this place is perfect. The Cape is still the Cape, with all of its charms - but without the crowds. The house is perfectly located, with huge windows overlooking the beach and the ocean, including from two of the bedrooms - a great view to wake up to! It is very cozy and clean, well heated and has a big fireplace. It's big enough not to feel constrained, but not huge to feel lost. Everything works as promised or better, and the place is very well organized. Janice was great - everything was prepared for us, and she stopped by to say hi and check on us on the first day. We will definitely be coming back again - probably again in winter!
My wife and I decided to escape from family drama for the week of Christmas 2014 along with our 2 year old daughter and 2 English Mastiffs. I can't come up with a single negative thing to say about this house and our stay. It is a very neat and cozy home and although it is not a large home we didn't feel crowded at all inside. It's located in a quiet neighborhood and a nice very short walk to the beach. The homeowner Janice was extremely friendly and accommodating and was quick to respond with any questions I had. We will always remember our Christmas in Cape Cod and hope someday to return to Seascape to make more memories!
This year, my husband and I opted for a quiet getaway for the Thanksgiving holiday. In the process, we discovered a gem of a home on Scorton Shores! This home is warm, welcoming, and very clean. The views from this beachfront property were spectacular. This was our first time on the Cape during the off-season, and we quite enjoyed the peace and quiet of the beach and surrounding areas. One of my favorite amenities was the cozy fireplace...I could sit in front of it and look out the window for hours (in fact, I think I did). It is not often that you find such a pristine home where the owners allow pets. Our small dog was very comfortable, and she loved the beach! The boardwalk beach access was perfect. My husband and I were able to cook a full Thanksgiving meal in the kitchen, the bathrooms were clean and updated, and the view from the master bedroom was amazing. We didn't want to leave! We hope to be able to visit this home again in the future.
I used to go to the Cape every year in September, but I haven't been able to do so for the past few years. This year I decided to come back to the Cape. I was hesitant about going in October because I know how chilly the Cape can be and finding a clean, heated cottage with a great view that accepts pets is no easy task; however, as luck would have it I discovered the Beach House. As everyone says, the views are great, the cottage was clean, and access to and from the place was extremely easy. I even liked the idea that the house was not directly on the beach, since that meant there were additional places to safely walk my dogs, and beach access was only a few steps around the corner. My dogs and I had a great, relaxing time exploring the beach and taking in all the changes in East Sandwich over the past three years.
Absolutely lovely. Terrific views - we never wanted to leave. The Hannahs keep the place well-stocked, and all of their recommendations were great (Momo's spanokopita.... Mary's bookshop....). We can't wait to go back.
One hour from Boston and Providence.
Skydiving, glider rides, whale watch and fishing boat charters out of Barnstable Harbor, concerts, plays, Cape Cod Melody Tent are within 7 miles for those active vacations.
This quiet, serene setting is all you need for a restful and nature filled vacation. Over the dune to the private beach you can walk for 10 miles along the ocean. From 'Sandy Neck' to 'Scorton Creek', this marsh on the back side makes this pristine area of East Sandwich a virtual island.
