About Janette Roch
I am a Mortgage Broker in Victoria and own two Student rental houses and (now) one vacation rental. My hobbies include travel planning for friends who come to the island, and event planning for charity fundraisers. I love downhill skiing and travelling abroad in the winter and boating and hiking in the summer. I am a Proud Victorian and am excited to show off my beautiful city/island.
Janette Roch purchased this house in 2010
Why Janette Roch chose Victoria
It's a hidden gem - paradise, with a ton of convenience! Langford is a growing community VERY close to Victoria and lakefront property doesn't come up very often. I love that Glen Lake is an electric motor lake, as it adds to the peace and tranquility. It is only 5km to Bear Mountain Golf and Spa as well as 3 other Golf courses. Family activites are abundant now that City Centre Park has opened, right around the corner (2 min walk)
What makes this house unique
My favorite thing to do is to sit on the patio and listen to the birds sing, watch the rabbits and deer jump across the field, the Canada Geese fly over and land in the lake at dawn and fly away at dusk. Blackbirds, bluebirds, chikadees, quail and robins are everywhere. Squirrels will come and stare at me through the patio door until they recieve thier daily dose of peanuts. This place makes me feel like Snow White!
Guestbook comments from the owner
I felt I should let you know that one of the things that stood out to me about your rental was your attention to simple but valuable details that added an exceptional quality to our experience.
I have rented several vacation properties but these things were unique to yours:
1. The supplies for smores and the maple syrup. My kids loved that. As you can tell since they cleaned out the chocolates.
2. The shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. My girls are spoiled with salon products from their grandmother who owns a beauty salon. They totally appreciated good hair products in the shower.
3. The large selection of brochures in the laundry area. I used them to plan my activities for the day. The Victoria road map book was awsome and we kept it in the van the entire week. You can tell by how used it was and some of the markings on pages. This was so handy.
4. An abundance of cleaning supplies. I have been frustrated at times having to go and buy dish soap or toilet paper just days after arriving at a rental. These are things you don't expect to do when on vacation so having the shelves stocked was a relief.
5. Having great communications with you during our stay. It was great to know we didn't have to hunt you down for days to get something even though there really wasn't much we needed.
We did attend the gardens on Saturday and saw the fireworks. I am so glad you let us know about that event. I was far greater than I expected. As well Richard and the girls fell in love with the gardens. After the fireworks we toured our favorite garden spots again with far less people around and much less noise. We were the last vehicle other than a few buses to leave the parking lot.
I enjoyed the Galloping Goose trail which was directly connected to the Glenn Lake pathway. I went for runs and biked into Victoria several times. It was so convenient and beautiful. We also rented kayaks in Victoria one afternoon.
Thanks for being a great hostess to our stay in Victoria. I have a feeling you will be very successful at renting your home to many more visitors. It is a super location, feels modern, is roomy yet quiet and private.
