The house is situated on a small road with 5 or 6 other homes. It's gated, with a large driveway, shaded by pine trees, where you can park up to 3 cars. It has its own well. In the front is a covered porch where you can enjoy the fresh sea breeze over breakfast, or drinks and card games in the afternoon/evenings. Inside is a large living/dining area with table, with a separate kitchen area with stove, refrigerator, sink and cupboards. There are three large bedrooms, and a bathroom with shower. In the back of the house is another full bathroom with shower, and an outside sink, washing machine and clothesline. Upstairs to the roof provides beautiful views of the sea in the front, and the fields to the back. The neighborhood is quiet, with kind, helpful local neighbors. Five minutes from the house is a large hotel with a bar, restaurant and mini-market for all your essentials. Keep walking another five minutes and you come to a peaceful white sandy beach along the Ionian Sea.
The house is located in the Salento region of Puglia. The area is famous for its wines, olive oil, cuisine and music; a land rich in tradition and culture. In under an hour you can be in Lecce, called the 'Florence of the South,' Ostuni, 'The White City,' Otranto, Gallipoli, Oria and any number of other lovely and interesting towns. Just a 10' drive from the house is the main city, Manduria, with its beautiful churches, archeological sites, restaurants and cafes. 10' walking distance from the house is a beautiful, public white sandy beach alongside the warm, calm Ionian sea. 5' drive to the south is the nature preserve, Punto Prosciutto; and to the north is the lovely town of San Pietro with nightclubs, carnival rides and open air markets.
