Parking:
The pedestrian old town is usually inaccessible by car however permanent parking is available at the harbour 100 meters away, It is possible to stop in front of the house for short term parking to unload luggage or shopping during off-peak times. 1 Private car space available to rent on request, 5 minutes from house.
Events and Activities:
Antibes hosts its own yacht show in April and an antiques fair in September. Les Voiles D’Antibes (regatta) is held in June. Antibes is an ideal base for the Cannes Film Festival or the Monaco Grand Prix both held in May. The July Jazz Festival in Juan les Pins is only minutes away. The Nice Carnival is a must for February.
Antibes has plenty to offer families with small children. Marineland, the biggest marine park in Europe with 1.2 million visitors a year is only a ten minute drive away. It features dolphins and whales, 30m long shark tunnel, aquariums and a museum and is open all year round. Adjacent to Marineland you’ll also find La Ferme du Far West (1 hectare park with horses, ponies, labyrinth and rides for small children), Aquasplash (water park with 12 toboggans, wave pool, enchanted river, 1,000m² pool) and Adventure Golf.
Sports and Leisure:
Water Sports: with a marina at its heart sailing, yachting, water skiing and wind surfing are all readily available in Antibes.
Golf: with 14 golf courses to choose within a 30 mins drive there is something for all levels. The Mougins ‘Golf and Country Club’ is renowned in France. The course is set in a beautiful landscape with outstanding views. Also of note is the Royal Mougins which has hosted the French Open.
Inland are riding, canoeing and kayaking. For the more adventurous there is also canyoning.
Skiing: there are two ski resorts within an hours drive offering excellent facilities including the ESF ski school. Isola 2000 (with 120 km pistes) set at 2000 metres, it is a purpose built resort. In contrast the traditional alpine village of Auron (130 km pistes) at 1600 metres oozes character.
