Overview

Estes Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Bierhaus is a fantastic family vacation home 200 feet from the Big Thompson River. It has been recently updated with new paint, living room furniture, all new comfy mattresses, kitchen island granite, and charming remodeled bathrooms. Bierhaus boasts many repeat visitors as well.

It is just a very short walk, less than 1/4 mile, to get into Rocky Mountain National Park and begin your hike. You can sit on the sofa and look out the picture window and watch elk and deer stroll by (this is actually very common). Bierhaus sits at the base of Giant Track Mountain and looks out across the Big Thompson River towards Eagle Cliff Mountain and the continental divide. It is a relaxing stay with plenty to do. Bierhaus is in the Aspen Brook community with very private grounds you can walk, including an area for bonfires as well as a playground for an absolutely great family vacation. The Aspen Brook community sits on the Big Thompson River.

Location, Location, Location. One of the truly unique features of Bierhaus is its location. You can avoid any Estes Park traffic simply walking 5 minutes and you are in Rocky Mountain National Park (see map on the right). One of the most common areas visited by elk, Moraine Park, is a brief hike from the house. The RMNP shuttle bus stops at the Moraine Park Museum during the summer. You can use the shuttle to get to many other trail heads further into the park. No need to find a parking spot at a crowded trail head!

Bierhaus is beautifully furnished and equipped to make your stay relaxing...or as active as you desire. It has a master bedroom (queen bed) on the first floor with a full bath. There are two bedrooms on the second floor that share a bathroom. One of the upstairs bedrooms has a queen bed and the other is a 'bunk room' with a set of bunk beds that are twin-size. Each bedroom has its own closet with plenty of space. The great room has a sofa and loveseat with a large table for games and a great fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped for whatever you might need. Bierhaus has a complete laundry room with a large clothes washer and dryer. The home also has a deck with picnic table and fantastic views. You can relax on the deck with a book and clearly hear the Big Thompson River, or just watch the wildlife.

As a guest in Bierhaus you will have access to a playground, large picnic area, volleyball, horseshoes, and a fire-ring for campfires, all adjacent to the river.

Things to do (besides relaxing and hiking):

Hire a fishing guide

Rent a bike in town

Check into a white water rafting trip in town

Take a rock climbing lesson

Try a snowshoe adventure

Go on a horseback ride

Take a day trip to Eldora to ski

Cook some smores at the firepit

Take a wildlife drive/hike

Altitude: 7,800 feet!

Keywords: cabin, house, lodge,

About Greg Bier

While vacationing in Estes Park for the last 35 years it has been our family's dream to 'own a piece of the Rockies'. Bierhaus is that. It has been in our family for about 20 years. While our piece of property is very small it has a large history. There is a mineral claim on it from 1875. It was part of the Dunraven Estate. If you read the history of Estes Park you'll see how it all fits in.

We believe the Colorado Rockies are as beautiful as the Alps and more beautiful than the Canadian Rockies.

This - is heaven.

Greg Bier purchased this house in 1993

Why Greg Bier chose Estes Park

Location, Location, Location. Bierhaus is its own trail head...there is NO NEED to drive into Rocky Mountain National Park and find a trail head parking space. Bierhaus is about 2.5 miles from the center of Estes Park. It is part of the small Aspen Brook community which is on the Big Thompson River.

What makes this house unique

Bierhaus is a unique jumping off point for the whole family. It is convenient to Estes Park yet within walking distance of great restaurants such as the Dunraven Inn. You can walk to the YMCA of the Rockies and take full advantage of all the programs they have to offer (nominal membership may apply).

Guestbook comments from the owner

Greg- I haven't had a chance to write you regarding our stay in Estes Park. I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our short vacation. Much wildlife in complex it self (including a herd of mule deer that walked up your steps and then up the mountain behind the house), great restaurants (a favorite was Nepals). and 3 trips up along Trailridge Road where we saw Bighorn sheep for the first time. Your house and it's location were perfect for us. In fact, during our stay we all commented that we would like to someday replicate your cabin in the mountains of Maryland. We did wonder if building plans for your cabin or one similar are available somewhere on line? Thanks again, and we look forward to another stay in the future.

Another Excellent Stay at Bierhaus!

  • 5 of 5

This was our family's third stay at Bierhaus, and it was our first visit to Estes Park in the winter. We continue to love the amazing location of Bierhaus! With three young boys, it's so nice to be able to walk out the door and hike into Rocky Mountain National Park. We also love that it's a simple and short drive into town or the main entrance to the park. In summer, we love hiking to Moraine Park, and my sons love throwing rocks into the Big Thompson River (just feet away from Bierhaus!). We also love seeing many elk around the cabin. This winter we absolutely loved snowshoeing around Bear Lake and many other trails and had fun sledding in RMNP. And again, we loved seeing coyote, deer, and elk. Bierhaus is a beautiful cabin! It is always clean and updated nicely and has everything our family of five needs while we're there. We plan to stay there whenever we visit Estes Park!

Perfect family vacation place

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 visited Estes Park for our Spring Break vacation. The cabin was in a beautiful location near town and RMNP. We walked out the front door and enjoyed a beautiful hike to Moraine Park.

The cabin was just the right size for our family and had a great view of the mountains. I enjoyed my mornings out on the deck with my coffee, book and the soothing sound of the river. The cabin had everything we needed for a week's stay. I would highly recommend this rental cabin.

We love Bierhaus!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at Bierhaus twice now - once with friends in the fall and once with family in the winter. Everything has been perfect! The house has a great layout that makes it extremely comfortable for up to six people. The location is ideal. You can be in Rocky Mountain National Park in minutes and the drive to the shops and restaurants downtown is only a few minutes longer. I've hiked and snowshoed hundreds of miles in RMNP and stayed in several different cabins over the years. This is my favorite!

Winter Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Bierhaus for our Christmas and New years break the place was awesome. The house was wonderful for our family of six, plenty of room and sleeping arrangements for all. Greg was super informative and helpful for the planning of our trip we could not of asked for anything better. We can't wait to come back either in the Summer or Fall, just to cold for us Texans. I highly recommend this house for your next vacation close enough from town and far enough away to avoid the hustle of town. Mike

Great Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I've been to Estes Park a handful of times. We've been backpacking, fishing, hiking, cycling, shopping, etc. The town is great and this Cabin is exquisite. We loved the warm and rustic feeling. It's just far enough from the main strip to feel like you're truly in the mountains, but close enough to take advantage of all that Estes Park offers. Fishing was walking distance from the cabin. Hiking trails were incredibly close by and the town is a drive down the street. Because of the time of year, elk were nearly peering in our windows. Greg, that you so much for the wonderful home! We had a great time.

Perfect for large families

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I take a summer trip each year with our four grandsons. The Bierhouse provided the perfect setting for our five-day visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. My husband and I loved our downstairs master bedroom with its own fully-equiped bathroom, and the two upstairs bedrooms with an additional bathroom for perfect for the boys. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with a full compliment of cookware and linens. I especially loved having access to a utility room with top-of-the-line washer and dryer. I can't say enough good about this lovely property. Although the fish weren't biting during our visit, having the Big Thompson River nearby added to the ambience of the location.

Map

Elk and deer are extremely common on the grounds. It is important that guests, especially children, understand the dangers of getting too close...or trying to feed the wildlife.

Fishing on the Big Thompson river, on Aspen Brook's river front, is catch-and-keep, NOT catch-and-release.
