Photos and Description of the Estes Park vacation house rental
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Bierhaus is a fantastic family vacation home 200 feet from the Big Thompson River. It has been recently updated with new paint, living room furniture, all new comfy mattresses, kitchen island granite, and charming remodeled bathrooms. Bierhaus boasts many repeat visitors as well.

It is just a very short walk, less than 1/4 mile, to get into Rocky Mountain National Park and begin your hike. You can sit on the sofa and look out the picture window and watch elk and deer stroll by (this is actually very common). Bierhaus sits at the base of Giant Track Mountain and looks out across the Big Thompson River towards Eagle Cliff Mountain and the continental divide. It is a relaxing stay with plenty to do. Bierhaus is in the Aspen Brook community with very private grounds you can walk, including an area for bonfires as well as a playground for an absolutely great family vacation. The Aspen Brook community sits on the Big Thompson River.

Location, Location, Location. One of the truly unique features of Bierhaus is its location. You can avoid any Estes Park traffic simply walking 5 minutes and you are in Rocky Mountain National Park (see map on the right). One of the most common areas visited by elk, Moraine Park, is a brief hike from the house. The RMNP shuttle bus stops at the Moraine Park Museum during the summer. You can use the shuttle to get to many other trail heads further into the park. No need to find a parking spot at a crowded trail head!

Bierhaus is beautifully furnished and equipped to make your stay relaxing...or as active as you desire. It has a master bedroom (queen bed) on the first floor with a full bath. There are two bedrooms on the second floor that share a bathroom. One of the upstairs bedrooms has a queen bed and the other is a 'bunk room' with a set of bunk beds that are twin-size. Each bedroom has its own closet with plenty of space. The great room has a sofa and loveseat with a large table for games and a great fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped for whatever you might need. Bierhaus has a complete laundry room with a large clothes washer and dryer. The home also has a deck with picnic table and fantastic views. You can relax on the deck with a book and clearly hear the Big Thompson River, or just watch the wildlife.

As a guest in Bierhaus you will have access to a playground, large picnic area, volleyball, horseshoes, and a fire-ring for campfires, all adjacent to the river.

Things to do (besides relaxing and hiking):

Hire a fishing guide

Rent a bike in town

Check into a white water rafting trip in town

Take a rock climbing lesson

Try a snowshoe adventure

Go on a horseback ride

Take a day trip to Eldora to ski

Cook some smores at the firepit

Take a wildlife drive/hike

About Greg Bier

While vacationing in Estes Park for the last 35 years it has been our family's dream to 'own a piece of the Rockies'. Bierhaus is that. It has been in our family for abuot 20 years. While our piece of property is very small it has a large history. There is a mineral claim on it from 1875. It was part of the Dunraven Estate. If you read the history of Estes Park you'll see how it all fits in.

We believe the Colorado Rockies are as beautiful as the Alps and more beautiful than the Canadian Rockies.

This - is heaven.

Greg Bier purchased this house in 1993
Why Greg Bier chose Estes Park

Location, Location, Location. Bierhaus is its own trailhead...there is NO NEED to drive into Rocky Mountain National Park and find a trailhead parking space. Bierhaus is about 2.5 miles from the center of Estes Park. It is part of the small Aspen Brook community which is on the Big Thompson River.

What makes this house unique

Bierhaus is a unique jumping off point for the whole family. It is convenient to Estes Park yet within walking distance of great restaurants such as the Dunraven Inn. You can walk to the YMCA of the Rockies and take full advantage of all the programs they have to offer (nominal membership may apply).

Elk and deer are extremely common on the grounds. It is important that guests, especially children, understand the dangers of getting too close...or trying to feed the wildlife.

Spring Break Get-away

This lovely Cabin in Estes Park is kept immaculately clean. The area is nice and the accessibility to Rocky Mtn. National Park is just as stated in the description. We enjoyed hiking to Cub Lake, did not have any idea how wide-spread the fire damage was across Moraine Park-- so it was an interesting hike. We ended up hiking 10 miles the 1st day. Our 2nd day we had a wonderful hike to Gem Lake - (Short drive to the trailhead). Greg was very helpful with any questions we had. Thanks so much!

Lazy Weekend

This was our first time using VRBO and Greg was excellent. We spent most of the weekend cuddled up on the couches by the fireplace or at the table playing games. The house was just what we craved for a lazy weekend with friends. We have no complaints and will be back.

House and Location Were Perfect

Submitted: October 22, 2012 Stayed: October 2012
Greg- I haven't had a chance to write you regarding our stay in Estes Park. I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our short vacation. Much wildlife in complex it self (including a herd of mule deer that walked up your steps and then up the mountain behind the house), great restaurants (a favorite was Nepals). and 3 trips up along Trailridge Road where we saw Bighorn sheep for the first time. Your house and it's location were perfect for us. In fact, during our stay we all commented that we would like to someday replicate your cabin in the mountains of Maryland. We did wonder if building plans for your cabin or one similar are available somewhere on line? Thanks again, and we look forward to another stay in the future.

8 Thumbs Up!

5 of 5
Submitted: October 2, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
My husband and I venture to Estes Park every year and this year we brought his parents (their first trip to EP). We all LOVED Bierhaus. My husband and I do not plan on staying anywhere else ever again! The cabin is very well appointed, the beds are extremely comfortable, there is great fishing within walking distance, and a kitchen that was spacious and allowed us to cook at home most nights. More important - abundant wildlife in the backyard - literally! We saw deer, turkeys, and even a bobcat! Bierhaus truly feels like a home. After long days hiking there is ample space on the deck to sit, chat, grill, and have a drink. And for cool fall nights - a great fireplace! Bierhaus is also very close to town. It was truly a great place to escape, and we cannot wait until next year to do it again! Greg and Carol were also very responsive and easy to deal with.
