La Nucia and Altea:
La Nucia is located to the north-east of the province of Alicante, in the centre of the region of The Marine Baixa, and one of the most beautiful and assorted of the coast. It has highways toward the Coast, linked directly with Altea (just 3 kms away), Benidorm (11kms away) and toward the mountains to Polop, Callosa d'en Sarria and the medieval town of Guadalest. The mountains of Aitana and Aixorta protect La Nucía from cold winds from the north, and in this way the average temperature is 15 º in the winter up to the lower 30's in the peak summer months of July and August.
Altea is rightfully known as ‘A Jewel in the Valencia Region’. The picturesque town looks to the sea across one of the most delightful bays on the Mediterranean. Steeped in history, over the centuries Altea has welcomed (or been conquered by) Iberians, Romans, Moors and Christians, all of whom have contributed to the special culture of these coastal lands.
Leisure Activities:
Whether you want a quiet holiday or a fun-packed one there is something for everyone in and around La Nucia - the Disney Style Terra Mitica theme park at Benidorm (just 20 minutes away by car), Aqualandia Water Park, and the Mundomar Exotic Animal and Marine Park. There are Safari Parks at Aitana and Vergel, Waterfalls at Bolulla, Caves at Benidoleig and Canalobre. For superb international shows with dinner the renowned Benidorm Palace and the Casino Mediterráneo at Villajoyosa are not to be missed. All along the coast at Altea there are excellent Water Sports facilities - including Snorkeling and Scuba Diving, Boating, Wind Surfing, Water Skiing and Fishing.
Benidorm has a youthful and pulsating nightlife with many discos and nightclubs, endless bars and fine restaurants. Benidorm has two crescent shaped beaches (the Levante and Poniente beaches) with golden sand that is always well cared for and clean.
Golfing Information:
For golfers there are 8 excellent courses in a radius of half an hour from the villa and many more in an 1 hour radius. The Don Cayo course in Altea (less than 15 minutes away) is a 9 hole course with spectacular views looking along the coast and with one of the longest par 5's in Spain. Further afield there is a selection of 18 hole courses - including the challenging championship courses at the Nicklaus designed courses at Real de Faula Benidorm, the Olazabal designed La Sella course between Javea and Denia, and the Ballesteros designed course at Oliva Nova - plus the 9 hole courses at Benissa Ifach and Javea.
