Our house is a timber frame home in the quaint coastal village of Lamoine, Maine. It was built in 2009-2010 by a local craftsman with environmental sustainability in mind. By incorporating items such as Forestry Stewardship Council certified timbers, dense-pack cellulose insulation, whole house fan for cooling, on-demand hot water heater, new Energy Star compliant appliances, even recycled glass stemware and re-purposed materials, guests can rest assured they are making as little impact on the planet as possible during their stay.

The house is comfortably furnished and can accommodate couples or families of up to 6 easily. The first floor has an open floor plan with a breakfast bar, dining table, living room and one full bath.

There is an outdoor shower for easy cleanup on returning from a day at the beach. The 3 bedrooms and second full bath are upstairs. One room has a queen bed, one has a full and the last has 2 twins. The well-insulated home is heated for year-round use.

Lamoine Beach, called one of 'Maine's Best Kept Secret Beaches' by Downeast Magazine, is a short 3-5 minute walk. Here you can explore nearly 2 miles of sand and gravel beach, hunt for shells and driftwood, launch a kayak or just enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains of Acadia National Park across the bay.

About Jack Jury

My wife and I have been vacationing in the Acadia National park area for nearly 17 years. We discovered the quiet coastal village of Lamoine in 2000. The more we came back, the more we knew this was a place for family vacation memories. Elizabeth, our 3 children and I are excited to now have a place of our own in the place we've enjoyed for so many years. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Jack Jury chose Lamoine

We chose Lamoine for it's proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Close enough for easy access but we can remain at 'our beach' and avoid the on-island crowds if we so choose. There is no better location in New England for year round, outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, sailing, beachcombing, and fall foliage viewing.

"This Maine house did not disappoint!....We were hard-pressed to leave this cozy house and get out and see things in Lamoine, but we enjoyed the beach and beautiful views there.....loved the outdoor shower, the surrounding woods, the quiet and peace of the Maine coast is not to be missed!"

This property was everything the owner described and more! The house was within walking distance from not only Lamoine beach but the state park. The property was new and clean. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need to prepare a lobster dinner to lunch for your family. Jack and Elizabeth were very accommodating. They were there to answer questions. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away and experience the Acadia National Park area without being in the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor.

Great Home, near the Beach and Bar Harbor. Very secluded on Private Drive enabled the kids to ride there bikes around the house. Very peaceful property, very easy walk to Lamoine Beach. 15 to 20 mins away from Ellsworth. Would stay here again with the Family.
