Antigua Vacation Rental : Jolly Harbour

This is a very clean and nicely furnished villa in a good location. It gets the sun in the morning with a view to the setting sun beyond the villas opposite. It is 400 metres to the beach (not 100 as stated) and about 800 m to the swimming pool, shops and restaurants. The beach has a good bar/restaurant, sun beds and watersports to rent, nice sand and safe swimming.
The villa was let down to some extent by details. There is a large gas barbeque but no tools and it is very dark on the sundeck at night making bbqing ‘challenging’. There is a large fairly well equipped kitchen but the gas for the cooker had run out. The aircon in the 2nd bedroom only worked for a couple of days. It had just been fixed apparently – but such are the trials of living in paradise. There were only 3 chairs at the sundeck table but they were comfortable. The crockery was good but with very few glasses.
The owner isn’t very communicative, you only get minimal information. Don’t let this put you off however, the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Just make sure you get full contact details for the agent and check in advance that everything is sorted.
