The top rental in the medieval palace is the former convent, known as 'The Cloisters of The Sisters of Mercy'. It boasts the best terrace in Triora, an antique, vaulted covered 'loggia', that enjoys 180 degree southerly views across maritime mountains and luscious river valleys. The bedroom is huge, about 30 sq.M and has a queen-size bed below its multi-vaulted ceilings. The marble bathroom is a stunner, with a huge, open, walk-in shower, stylish bidet and loo and slate, table-top sink. It is all centrally heated in winter. The dining room has an antique slate floor, the kitchen has all of the usual appliances and marble worktops and floor. Culturally bejewelled, Triora (& sister village, Molini) is a medieval gem, set within an historical framework of antiquity, with contemporary art and film interest: 3 oscar-nominated celebrities have houses here, amongst the 5 castles, 3 palaces, 16 churches and pagan pre-history. World War Two battle architecture, neolithic monuments, water-mills, MTB mountainbiking (bikes rented locally), wine, cheese, pasta, mushroom, snail & many other food & drink festivals; the finest esoteric mountain cuisine - restaurants galore; horse-riding, World Rally and classic cars, Renaissance singing, Argentinean Tango, ornithology, trekking, Riviera mediterranean seaside resorts, Monte Carlo and great cities like Nice & Genoa are near but the terrors of the late 16th Century have bestowed upon Triora a modern day gift greater than all those attractions. Triora is about to open the International Museum of Witchcraft & is the 'Salem' of Italy & the Wicca capital of Europe! Halloween here is unmlssable!

Further details for this vacation rental in Triora, Italy

Flexibility 1 - 4 (or more) people!: As there are up to 4 apartments to let in the same medieval palace, it is an ideal place to come as a group. You can maintain some privacy from each other by having your own bedrooms and bathrooms, even kitchens and diners, if you wish to eat apart. The apartments are totally independent of each other but compliment each other very well also. Dining on terraces for 8 is possible in 'The Cloisters' and in 'The Holy Scriptorium', whilst indoor space is abundant in 'The Chambers of General Massena'. 'The Penthouse' is above it all and is ideal for a couple who want to keep a little distance whilst still being close to their friends. For numbers greater than 8, we know of adjoining properties that you can rent also. Please inquire. NOTE All of our properties are free of hidden charges: there is no after-holiday cleaning charge; no winter fule charges; no back-up heating charges. Key/security deposits GBP Sterling cheques are returned upon departure and not held to make interest.

Extras!: We offer lots of extras, including dance lessons in Argentine Tango; mini-cabs, bag-carrying to and from your car. Triora, like many medieval towns and villages, with car-free historic centres, has narrow, cobblestone streets ... that 5 minute stroll to and from your car, FREE of bags is well worth the service! MINI-CABS to and from Nice and Genoa airports. If you do not wish to hire a rental car, take one of our mini-cabs, at about one third of the local rate, to and from airports. i.e. Nice 79 Euros. Genoa 99 Euros plus road tolls (about 10 Euros). This service is at these very special rates for guests only. MINI-CAB services must be pre-booked and pre-paid - it's easy - one click on our website - and all flight details must be given in advance via Email or fax. ARGENTINE TANGO! Learn this ever-more popular dance & wow your friends back home! The owners will give you introductory & basic lessons - as many as you want - for a small fee per lesson or for dinner & tango evenings out.

Winter comforts : [A.] THE PALACE CLOISTERS has, for no-extra-charges, a full central heating system, with: a wood burner that heats 6 in-house water-filled radiators, to an ambient temperature of at least 21 degrees Celsius. [B.] THE PALACE PENTHOUSE has, for no extra charges, a powerful, ecological wood-pellet burning fireplace. It will keep you very warm indeed. [X.] In the event of heating failure to one of these systems we provide a free-of-charge back-up, alternative heating system of kerosene heaters. We are unlike any other let in the area not only in that WE DO NOT surcharge your stay for heating costs but that with our back-up system WE DO guarantee you will be warm throughout winter, for no extra cost.

Other Activities: Argentine Tango dancing and/or lessons

A couple of Kiwi's in the medevil village

Pam & Chris Christchurch, New Zealand
Review Submitted: May 6, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Pam & I visited Italy from New Zealand and had a most wonderful stay in Triora here at the Medieval Palazzo.

The accomodation is great, clean and tidy and relaxing.

The kitchen is wonderful to use for cooking, Gas Hobs, Oven, Dishwasher, fridge etc and all the pots & pans, and kitchen tools you will need to cook a feast.

The rooms were large and welcoming, a nice pellet fire was available for use without charge (probably not needed in summer)

There are quite a few steps to get to the Medieval Palazzo so remember that when you are loaded with your bags and food. But you will be happy when you find it and go in side.

Carl is a most welcoming host and will go out of his way to try to help you (but also give you the privacy you desire)

We stayed for 7 nights in early April 2009 and I loved the whole time there. The local area is also great and I did a nice walk to a local town not too far away.

This area and the apartment made my trip to Italy truely wonderfull. I was comparing everywhere else to it, I am so glad I visited this region of Italy and stayed here.

I am now home in new zealand and still think back to my visit here.

I am not allowed to post a url to my site so if you are intersted in photos do a google search for Pam & Chris in Triora, Italy
