St Lawrence Gap:
Located on the south coast of Barbados, the area known as St Lawrence Gap is a popular area to stay on holiday because of the many, many restaurants and clubs it offers as well as the two very nearby large beaches (Dover and Sandy beaches). We are fortunate to be located in the midst of restaurants, shopping, clubs, and beaches so that even our guests who don't rent a car can have a wonderful holiday.
The Four Sides of Barbados:
Barbados offers four diverse coastlines.
The north coast has dramatic sheer cliffs with a rough sea (the Atlantic Ocean).
The east coast also has the Atlantic Ocean crashing against it; this area draws surfers from the world over, but is not recommended for swimmers. The east coast is beautiful and largely undeveloped.
The west coast is known as the 'Platinum Coast,' with the serene Caribbean Sea as quiet as a lake against the white sands for which our country is famous. Development is thick along the west coast of Barbados, and as there are many high-end luxury accommodations, prices are quite high.
The south coast - where our apartment is located - has a casual energy about it, many restaurants, and an occasional rooster alongside the St Lawrence Gap. The sea is a combination of the Caribbean and Atlantic - and as such is a bit livelier than the placid west coast sea. There's no undertow, the sea is clear, and activities numerous.
