This tranquil cottage in a quiet setting is nestled between the edge of Burt Lake and Colonial Point Forest. The 350 acre nature preserve is a spectacular place to walk, jog. or ride your bikes among the towering White Pines, and is right outside your backdoor. On this west side of the lake, you will be protected from prevailing winds and enjoy the beautiful sunrises each morning. Your family will love the flat, sandy, 200ft beach for playing, shallow water for swimming, relaxing on the dock and campfires at night. End each day by gazing at the thousands of stars in the dark Michigan sky above you.

This home is located within 15-20 miles from Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Mackinac Island. These towns provide wonderful shopping, entertainment. family activities, world-class golf, skiing and great restaurants. Those who want to cross the Mackinac Bridge and explore the Upper Peninsula. it is only a short drive away. The Great Lakes Shipweck Museum / Whitefish Point, Tequamenon Falls, and Soo Locks are popular day trips from the cottage. To the south, you'll also find Bay Harbor, Charlevoix and Traverse City which are exciting areas to explore.

We had a fantastic time during our August week. The cottage was gorgeous and just like the pictures. The layout was conducive for relaxing, sleeping, and eating. Plenty of room although we only had four it was much larger and could accommodate ten easily. The dock was beautiful to watch the sunset from. We used the fire ring once and it was very nice. The cottage was immaculate and well maintained. We treated it as if it were our own. The owner was very good in communication and we had no issues. We would recommend the property for others. Any store or restaurant is a bit of a drive but Douglas Lake Bar & Steakhouse was very nice and one of the closest to the cottage. Hoppies Tavern and Legs Inn are also interesting dinner locations. Burt Lake is a very peaceful place and the weather can fluctuate from swimming to sweaters in a matter of hours. A Mackinac Island day trip can be done easily from this location. Be sure to bring back some fudge for everyone to enjoy!
