Beautiful 'white village' style community with large pool near sea and beach

Lovely self-catering Villa 140m2 with large communal pool and tennis court in superb location overlooking Mediterranean sea. Ideal location for all the family only 20 minutes from Malaga Airport. Located in the small but beautiful Spanish village of Chilches only 5 minutes by car to beach and supermarket. This Villa can also be rented as two self contained apartments, ideal for two families wishing to holiday together. The upstairs (70m2) with 2 bedrooms accommodating 4 persons has a roof terrace with fantastic sea views while the lower apartment enjoys a large terrace and lovely safe garden area and has two double bedded rooms, with cot optional and a lounge with two sofa bed settees. Although a wonderful summer holiday rental, the Andalucian climate, which averages 320 days of sunshine per year, is temperate year round with highs ranging from 15 in winter to 30+ Celsius in summer. Excellent for familes and couples.

You will be met on arrival by our local representattive/housekeeper who can, by prior arrangement provide essentials for your needs.

There is a village shop within walking distance for your immediate needs and within a short car journey you have a large Mercadona with fresh fruit, vegetables and selection of fresh fish daily.

Also within a short car journey there are two large shopping malls, including Zara, Bennetton, Eroski, to name but a few. There is also a bowling alley, cinemas, and water parks.

The lower apartment comprises kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower over, cloakroom and 2 bedrooms (both with a double bed), and sitting room, with fold out settees. (Cot available on request). It has a large covered terrace (20m2) and a beautiful private garden (40m2). Kitchenette with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee perculator, kettle, 3 ring gas hob. Electric convection oven with grill. Washing machine. Side gate entrance - Large sheltered terrace for eating breakfast/dinner, with patio furniture comprising table and six chairs, sun-loungers - pretty enclosed terrace garden with beautiful orange tree and lots of plants /shrubs sheltered by a large hedge for privacy. There is a Barbecue in the garden.

Benajarafe/Chilches is situated on the eastern side of Spains Costa del sol. Its location, some 14 kilometres from the regions capital, Malaga, lies within the area known as Axarquia. Situated on the coast, between Rincon de la Victoria and Torre del Mar, it enjoys one of the best climates in Europe. The unique combination of sun an sea, makes it almost tropical.

To get to this magnificent location, take the autovia from Malaga, heading in the direction of Almeria. You will pass the shopping centre in La Cala del Moral (10 minutes from Chilches) with many shops including ZARA and the supermarket Carrefour or use the supermarket Mercadona which is found at the entrance to Chilches.

Benajarafe is about 25 minutes to Nerja that boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing. The beaches of Benajarafe and El Rincon de la Victoria are traditional summer resorts.

At the time of booking we were not aware that there was no inside
living room (we probably made the aaaumption that there was) though in the event we spent most of our time on the patio so it was not a problem. The swimming pool is a short uphill walk but we normally had it to ourselves. An outside barbeque might be beneficial as the cooking space seemed a little cramped and the cooking facilities were basic. The local barking dogs could be annoying but that is obviously beyond the control of the apartment owners. Other than that I feel we got what we paid for,the apartment met our needs and provided a good base for exploring the surrounding area, though a car is a necessity.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children

Having originally enquired about the upper apartment, due to lack of availability I accepted the lower one. Description is short and precise and describes exactly what is there. No seating area inside at all only outside on terrace which comprised of plastic garden furniture (no cushions). Sunbathing required lying on the floor in the terraced garden or by the pool. Cooking was impossible as 2 ring stove had no gas supply, no oven or grill, leaving only an electric 2 plate hob to cook on (This smoked and set of the smoke detector). Property was not ready when we arrived as no details about our booking had been left and needed to several telephone calls to owners local representative regarding this and other queries. However, despite the above the apartment was in good condition and clean, the area was lovely, very hilly and not suitable for the infirm. A 3 minute very steep walk up led to the pool which was clean, lovely and warm and provided great views of the mountainside. Communal bar-b-que was again not accessible as no grills on which to cook food. Having now seen both apartments, I consider the lower apartment to be overpriced when comparing it with the facilities of the upper apartment, and would not recommend it as suitable to families as we had to drive down to the coast everyday to eat .

Thank you for taking the time to make a review. In response to your comments we would agree that the description is indeed precise and accurate. However, there is now an indoor sitting room, plus new cushions for the patio furniture, plus sun loungers for the terrace with cushions. We have removed the 2 ring stove and have replaced it with a new cooker. The downstairs apartment is a favourite for couples with families as there is a safe area in the garden for children to play in and no cars inside the urbanisation itself. The walk to the pool is up hill but it is an easy walk, we have 2 neighbours in their 80s who walk around the urbanisation every day. The families who have stayed in our house have reported that it is an ideal environment for families and within easy reach of all amenities and state that they very much enjoyed going out in the evening for meals as there is an abundance of Chiringitos within 5 minutes drive of the house where the variety and quality of the food available is superb. We do stipulate that a car is necessary with this rental property as we are 5-6 minutes from the beach by car. We are glad you found the apartment and the pool area to be clean and of a good standard. There is in fact also a shop for day to day requirements in the old part of the village within easy walking distance.
As the communal B-B-Q is no longer available beside the pool we have installed a B-B-Q in the downstairs. apartment.
The lower apartment has comparable facilites to the upper and we will continue to enhance the property for the comfort of our visitors.
