Incredibly Disappointed

Rating Details:
I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was somewhat unhappy with the location.
The vacation rental was spotless.
The property manager was very unhelpful.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

Reviewer Comments:
This property should never have been rented to us. There was a major construction project underway that we were notified about just a few days before we were to arrive. Upon arrival it was clear the project had been on the schedule weeks in advance. There were workers outside the unit starting at 7:00 a.m until late afternoon. We couldn't open windows fully because of scaffolding up against the building. There were construction materials everywhere, hammering, sawing, smoking, swearing, yelling. Driving in and out with noisy vehicles. The management company offered a refund of one night, which I haven't received and now they aren't responding to my email. Our last night there someone came through the property and keyed several vehicles, fortunately we were not keyed.

Very Disappointed

Six days prior to our arrival the management company emailed me to say that they had been notified of a siding project that would affect parking in front of the unit we had rented. I expressed concern over the project and was offered a one bedroom or a 4 bedroom alternative, the one bedroom wouldn't accommodate our party of 5 and the 4 bedroom in town would be more expensive. I proceeded with the original agreement not realizing the siding project was a full blown construction operation. Upon our arrival, we discovered paperwork inside the unit that indicated this project had been going on for weeks so it could not have possibly been a surprise to the management company. Workers arrived every morning of our vacation at 7:00 a.m. and didn't leave until late in the afternoon. Trailers, trucks and trash were everywhere in front of this unit. Scaffolding was placed so close to the unit it was impossible to open the windows more than an inch or two. Men were outside of our windows every morning and some of the windows didn't have treatments so it was impossible for them not to look inside. A vacation is supposed to be relaxing and refreshing which was completely impossible with all of the construction racket going on every single morning. It's hard to imagine that someone could have such a lack of respect for another person that they would knowingly and intentionally rent a property that was under this kind of disruptive construction. The management company offered a one night refund or we could move to a different property, which didn't make any sense because by the time the offer was made we had only one night left. We rent all the time on VRBO and this is the first time we have ever had such a bad experience. As far as the inside of the unit goes, it was fine. Kitchen and bathrooms very dated but super clean. The morning we left we discovered that several cars in the complex had been keyed overnight, fortunately ours were not.
