Photos and Description of the Santa Fe vacation condo rental
Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

In a quiet, safe and historic neighborhood just 2 blocks from the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and 2/10 mile (3 blocks) from the Santa Fe Plaza, the Sunflower Casita Northwest welcomes you with cleanliness, comfort and tasteful Southwest decor. Everywhere can be seen and appreciated the thoughtfulness, artistic eye and attention put to details that delight guests. This is the perfect place to stay and come-and-go from for your visit to wonderful Santa Fe!

Enter through French doors to discover stunning area rugs, handsome furnishings and soft-toned walls. Whether you arrive to the light-filled daylight interior or evening mood lamplight, your visit gets off to the right start here where everything is just so. Sleepy or just want a little siesta? The master bedroom has a king bed made up with nice linens, a roomy closet and view through French doors to the patio. Now to freshen up? A sparkling bathroom (accessible from the hallway) is ready for a relaxing tub or hot shower and provides the all-necessary large mirror, pedestal sink, hairdryer, plenty of nice towels and cupboard for your personal items. Maybe you plan to tuck away some groceries or fix a drink, coffee, snack or meal? The kitchen is fully equipped with full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, pots and pans, knives and flatware, dishes and mugs and ... yes, lots of wine glasses. The cafe-height dropleaf dining table seats up to 4. A desk and free Wifi or ethernet (cord provided) make it easy to stay connected as needed. But sooner or later, you'll settle into the living room, enjoying the exceptionally fine leather queen pullout couch for cocktails, conversation, reading, movies, or the pleasing winter activity of just staring into dancing flames, enjoying the scent of pinon in the woodburning fireplace or in summer, cooling off stretched out for a siesta with the central A/C.

More amenities include stacked W/D. The two sets of French doors (the main entry and from the bedroom) and large windows all enhance the sense of interior space and free flow to the full-length high-walled bricked patio where seasonal dining or lounging at the tree-shaded table is a pleasure.

Two off-street parking spaces right outside your gate and the amazing downtown setting add to the reasons why guests return.

About Victoria Rogers

Victoria Rogers continues to make reservations for her properties and former properties in the Historic McKenzie Neighborhood, finding usefulness for a lifetime of professional experiences, too many and numerous to mention (see www.victoria-rogers.com)! In April 2011, Sunstone Press published her book about the casita's area, 'Santa Fe's Historic Neighborhood', with information about the history and artwork depicting the architecture. This is a super spot and the enjoyment begins right outside your door!

Victoria Rogers purchased this condo in 2007
Why Victoria Rogers chose Santa Fe

New owners Dave and JoAnn Carlson (2012) looked all over Santa Fe before settling on purchasing this wonderful casita in the best location for walking to downtown and other favorite destinations. It's exactly what they had been dreaming of for a place to enjoy themselves on frequent trips to New Mexico, and they are delighted to be sharing their new find with you!

What makes this condo unique

Where to begin? Just being here and 'hanging out' is so goooood!!! Then there's walking 5 minutes into town on a mountain-style cool Summer's eve or when winter's magical snowflakes are falling. Life is at its absolute best spontaneously stopping into a cafe for delicious New Mexican cuisine (red OR green chile - both yum-yum-yum!) or coffee or a drink. Returning to snuggle up in the delightful living room in front of the kiva fireplace while fragrant pinon is burning - mmmm. Or to relax on the patio or to listen to the soothing quiet during siesta or at bedtime. And always, not having to get parking when going to a nearby museum, restaurant, bookstore, church, performance or shopping (or the P.O. or Convention Center), all just a hop-and-a-skip away!

Only plus was location

Location was good but that was where all the positive ended. Yes the Adobe is decorated cute like the pictures but place was filthy! Floors and rugs had layers of dirt, bathroom shower dirty, linens on bed so old and nubby. Time for a face lift! Rolled to center of bed on old mattress and I am barely 100 lbs. We stayed here because of previous reviews, location and we could bring our tiny dog who stayed in his pen. Do they not replace burned out light bulbs so you don't see the dirt? We left a day early, I dreaded coming back to the place. Has anyone stayed there this year? What has changed from last year to this so drastically? Never coming back here! Huge disappointment! Could not take it for 7 days!
Owner's Response: Correct, there has never been cause for a bad review. As is stated in the welcome letter from the new management (former owner-manager Victoria makes the reservation and will always make everything right if notified) let them know if you have a complaint while you are there and it will be fixed on the spot! This casita had a 2-1/2-month occupancy just prior to the guests' check-in and upon investigation of the guests' review, it was discovered that the "deep clean" that was due had to be rescheduled. Since the guests did not mention any problems during their stay - when they could have been moved to another casita immediately - hopefully amends can be made in the future. This is a wonderful casita with a great reputation for a good reason!

Great location and perfect casita for our vacation!

I planned this trip and rented this casita as a "thank you" get-away for my Mom who is very interested in Southwest culture. I didn't want to stay in a hotel. I wanted to give her a little piece of the Southwest during our stay and this place was perfect. It is in a wonderful location that is just blocks away from the Plaza so you have great access to all the wonderful shopping and restaurants without having to find parking which, at times, isn't easy. The decor was also true to what you would envision being in an adobe. Easy access to the highway for those day roadtrips to surrounding sites. As an added bonus, Victoria was GREAT to work with!

My husband and I enjoyed this casita for a weekend in Santa Fe. It's immaculate, well appointed, and very convenient for walking to restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. We really enjoyed the private patio in late afternoon ... sipping a glass of wine and soaking up the late day sunshine. Victoria is most helpful and will give you excellent advise on dining. And, if you're interested in cooking classes, the Santa Fe Cooking School is just two blocks away!

This casita was even better than one could tell from the photos online; the furnishings, artwork, linens, location, wonderful hostess: all were exceptional.
We felt at home from the moment we entered the courtyard. What a lovely place this is for evening glass of wine and tapas; to enjoy sitting under the stars and moon of Santa Fe.

Return Guests from 2012 for 2 Months Again in 2013

The complex is beautiful, convenient, well maintained. However, why we chose to rent again this year, mainly because of Victoria. She is a sweet lady, takes the extra steps to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, professional and has become a good friend. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Santa Fe to call Victoria.
