Wonderful stay and an excellent price!

After searching numerous hotels within walking distance of the aquarium, we stumbled on to this apartment. It's just a block from the Walnut Street Bridge and Coolidge Park. The location could not have been more perfect, especially for the price. Also, if you walk everywhere, it saves on gas and parking. If you want something low cost and near to everything, look no further.

There are a few minor draw backs, but were absolutely no where near a deal breaker. First, the apartment is an older building (built in 1929) so there are a few building issues. The floor is slightly uneven in a few spots (nothing major at all), the walls are thin and sound travels freely (you can hear the people upstairs walking clearly), and many of the doors slightly stick when you open and close them. Also, we discovered that the garbage truck dumps the dumpster outside at 5 AM on Fridays, and it's quite loud. The apartment is on a slightly steep hill, so if you have trouble getting up/down inclines, you might need to know. That's honestly all the issues we ran into, and these were really very minor, but you should know of them before renting.

We stayed there with a 2 year old and a 4 year old with no issues. Both rooms have queen sized beds that mostly fill the rooms, although we had enough room to open up a pack-n-play beside the bed in the back room. There are LCD TVs in both bedrooms and living room with digital cable on all 3. The internet didn't work while we were there, but it was an issue with Comcast, not the property owners. It wasn't an issue for us as we had a wireless hotspot device.

I highly recommend this for small/medium size families looking to stay in Chattanooga on a budget. It's a clean, well kept apartment that is a great location and at an amazingly good price!

I have stayed in this apartment several times in the past year because my daughter lives on Frazier Avenue. I found this little apartment to be perfect for me. It is very close to Frazier Avenue stores and restaurants, the park, the walking bridge and the river. There is a grocery store, drug store and convenience store within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone traveling to Chattanooga who is looking for a clean and convenient place. The owners are awesome and were always very responsive to my needs. You can't beat it for the price!

Our main attractions in Chattanooga were the aquarium, children's museum, and river park area - the apartment was an easy (10 - 20 min) walk to all three. It was clean, nicely decorated (though nothing too froufrou for my 10 month old to get into) and well-appointed. Not spacious or fancy, but great for us.

A nice apartment to stay in. It is very conveniently located within walking distance across the river to downtown Chattanooga, as well as being close to several very good restaurants and pubs. We barely drove our car anywhere, except to site-see away from the town itself. The apartment was comfortable and had the amenities of home so that we could save on eating out, etc. Anything that we had a problem with was dealt with quickly by the management. Definitely a place we would look at again when visiting Chattanooga, TN

Great Location but lots of problems

We stayed in this property for one month. It is very small but we did not need a large space anyway so that was ok. We were however, very discouraged that there were no drawers for any of our clothes and the closets were pretty full of other "stuff" so not a lot of room even for hanging clothes. We went and bought temporary storage units for our folding clothes. Not a great expense, but an awful inconvenience.

The ceilings have water stains on them, however we did not experience any leakage while we were there. One of the most disturbing things was the windows! They would not open! It was such a shame because the weather was so nice that we could have saved the owner a lot of money by not using the air conditioning. It would have been nice to have some wine glasses. We bought some and left them there.

The second "bedroom" was little more than a large closet, though it did have two "beds". We used it as a dressing room and room for our luggage since the bathroom was so small that you could not possibly dress in it.

The chairs on the deck were so rusted that my husband got paint and painted them!

Overall, this property is just not well cared for. The floor in the living room is not level and the outside gutters are in disrepair.

The WiFi worked beautifully and the TVs were fine. We did have problems with the bedroom TV at first but that was cleared up for us right away.

The wonderful point of this property is the LOCATION! It's perfect!

We will be staying in Chattanooga again next year for a month or more and hope to find a place close by that is in better repair.

Owner's Response: Hey there, I have tried to say this in a nice way before, but unfortunately I think digital folks forget that there are still nice business people in the world, who don't mind talking on the phone. Some folks don't understand constructive criticism is what makes my business world go around. Look we take all criticisms constructively and as a healthy sign of progress; this guest was right, not sure why they didn't just pick up the phone and call us but that's what makes our digital world go around I guess .

Here's what I've addressed; my stuff has been cleaned out of all the closets, we've added a hanging storage drawer from lowes in each closet, we've kiles painted the ceiling but they still might be a little rough (we try to stress to folks this isn't the ritz, it's a cozy but very little apt that my folks stay in when they visit me :-). We've added wine glasses (not sure why I hadn't thought about this in the last two years because I drink wine too, shame on me ).

The second bedroom is small but I plan to take the two beds out and put in a queen because the two beds do make it seem so small . It's 10' x 10'.

The windows are painted shut, a classic move by the former owner and I just can't do anything about this problem right now, plus it gets so hot in Chattanooga, almost no one opens windows anymore. Bugs are another reason why this fact about my little apts doesn't bother me.

I'm very thankful the guests did paint my old chairs but we've since replaced those with a couple of lawn chairs from lowes.

And the floors are terribly out of level but I bought the place that way and decided not to tear it down because I was building other houses (I built the house next door to these two little apts) .

I hope this guest reads my response and gives us another look next time she's in town. I'll try to get a few more folks to write their reviews since I've made these changes and repairs but as always we appreciate constructive criticism.

I can't promise that I'll ask how high every time but I sure will listen up :-)
