Teach Mhici Oig, (young Michael's house) is a well equipped, traditional style, self-catering cottage complete with half-door! Built some 150 years ago, it has been brought up to date over the years and yet retains its original charm. Spend romantic evenings in front of the open fire in the sitting room or better still watching the glorious west of Ireland sun sets over the Atlantic ocean from the comfy conservatory. With oil fired heating and heating through back boiler from the open turf fire, the house is cosy all year around. The modern fully equipped kitchen has dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and dryer. The three bedroom self-catering cottage sleeps six people and has three bedrooms, two with doubles and one with two singles. It has a TV, DVD player and video. The bathroom has a bath and an electric shower. The cottage has ample parking to the front and a large garden to the rear. It is in a very private location on a quiet side road close to a minor road.

Teach Mhici Oig is beside both the mountains and the sea. Close to the magnificent Gelnveagh National Park, the area is rich in beauty, heritage and folklore. Stunning geographical features include a mountain range which is ideal for hill walking and climbing, lakes for fishing, bog lands for wildlife and much more. With quiet country roads for cycling and an old railway kline for walking along there is no end to the possibilities for outdoor entertainment, whatever the weather and all can be followed with a 'pint' in one of many of the traditional style local pubs. There are many cultural attractions too such as Ionad Cois Luiche - a lakeside folkpark, the art gallery and museum at Churchill, the castle at Glenbeigh, a heritage centre dedicated to St.Colmcille and archaeoloigal sites too numerous to mention! There is something to suit all tastes.

There are numerous golf courses throughout Donegal: There are two clubs close to the property, one at Cruit Island - a very scenic 18 hole and the second at Gweedore - also a links course. Other, championship courses are within a one hour drive. Anyone with an interest in traditional Irish music will be spoilt for choice when it comes to hearing good music. There are sessions in various pubs each night of the week in high season with weekly concerts in Ionad Cois Luiche. Leo's Tavern - home to Enya and Clannad also has music nightly as well as being an ideal place to eat. One of the county's leading restaurants Teach Danny Minnies is less than one km from the property.

Having stayed at Teach Mhici Oig in Rannafast near Annagry. on a couple of occasions. I wouldn't hesitate
to recommend it for a holiday.
There is a welcoming feel to the cottage which makes it feel like a home from home. It's an ideal base for exploring
this beautiful region.
The views from the conservatory on the estuary and the
ocean beyond were stunning.
The cottage is warm. the beds comfortable. the kitchen well equipped. We hope to come back
